New museum about Indian music to be opend at Bengaluru :
The Centre for Indian Music Experience in Bengaluru is scheduled to open between March and June 2017. The three-storey museum with 20,000 square feet of exhibition space will feature Bollywood, Hindustani, Carnatic and regional music. There will also be a gallery focusing on the role of women in the evolution of the recording industry.

'Kalimpong' new district formed  out of Darjeeling by CM Mamata Banerjee :
CM Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday made Kalimpong West Bengal's 21st district after separating it from Darjeeling. She also announced a ₹220 crore road link project which will connect Kalimpong to Sikkim via the old Silk Route. Kalimpong has seen separate statehood demands since the 1980s. Notably, when TMC government was formed in 2011, Bengal had 19 districts.

Indian kids sets a record of making fly 7,730 paper planes in 1 minute :

As many as 80 students of Moginand Senior Secondary School in Himachal Pradesh have set a world record by flying 7,730 paper planes in one minute. This record was set as a part of a campaign against drugs. The record was previously held by 87 students of a New Zealand school, where 3,622 paper planes were flown in a minute.
Women's football club started in Haryana by Alakhpura villagers on crowd fund basis :
Alakhpura FC, a women's football club in Haryana is crowdfunded by Alakhpura villagers to keep it functioning. The club, founded in 2002, reached the semi-finals of the inaugural Indian Women's League and has two consecutive Subroto Cup titles to its name. The club's training ground has been created by villagers drying out a pond and filling it with sand.

First indigenously developed surveillance plane included in IAF

The Indian Air Force on Tuesday inducted its first indigenously developed all-weather airborne early warning and control system at the Aero India 2017 in Bengaluru. Mounted on a Brazilian Embraer-145 jet, the surveillance plane has the capability to detect enemy aircraft and missiles. The AeW&CS system has been developed by the DRDO and has a range of around 200 km.
India finds place in global health network for improving quality of care for pregnant mothers,babies :

India is among nine countries that will be part of a global health network focused on improving the quality of care for new mothers and babies and strengthen national efforts to end preventable deaths of pregnant women and newborns by 2030. In a statement, World Health Organisation (WHO), said every mother and infant deserves to receive the highest quality of care when they access health facilities in their communities.
It said the period around childbirth is the most critical for saving mothers and newborns, and preventing stillbirths. The new Network is supported by WHO,UNICEF and other partners and aims to strengthen national efforts to end preventable deaths by 2030. The nine countries are India, Bangladesh, A Cote d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda.
1.5 lakh health sub centres to be converted into Wellness Centres : Center

The Centre has decided to convert 1.5 lakh health sub centres into Wellness Centres. Interacting with media in New Delhi , Health Minister J P Nadda said, screening of diseases like diabetes and breast, oral and cervix cancer will be done in the centres.
He said, the centres will be transformed into wellness centres in a phased manner. He said, the outlay of health budget has been hiked by 27.7 per cent to over 47 thousand crore rupees.
Constrains forced  on liquor consumption by Haryana Govt :

Haryana government has notified that no person will be allowed to consume liquor at a place which is not licensed or authorized under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 except his dwelling unit.
Giving this information, Excise and Taxation Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said at Chandigarh that the consumption of liquor in a vehicle running or parked, along the road or in a park/garden/market or a river side etc. shall be an offence.

Sub-committee of council of ministers formed by Haryana Cabinet to prepare blue print of Integrated Dairy Complexes :

Haryana Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal at Surajkund today decided to constitute a sub-committee of Council of Ministers to prepare a blue print of Integrated Dairy Complexes in all cities of the State.
The committee consists of Agriculture Minister Om Parkash Dhankhar, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Kavita Jain and Minister of State for Cooperation, Munish Kumar Grover. The committee will submit its report within a month.

Dubai  to implement self-driving drones to fly people across country from July :

Self-driving single occupancy drone taxis will be flying passengers across Dubai from July, the city's Roads and Transport Authority said. Dubai will use Chinese firm Ehang's drones which take off vertically and can remain in flight for up to 30 minutes on a single charge. The passengers can choose from predetermined destinations available on a tablet fitted inside the drone.

First joint military exercise  between US and Thailand since Trump's powered  begins :  

The US and its Asian allies have begun their first joint military exercise since President Donald Trump took office. The annual Cobra Gold military exercise hosted by the US and Thailand is one of Asia's largest multinational drills.
More than 8,300 personnel from 29 countries, including Japan, South Korea, China and Southeast Asian nations are taking part this year. The head of the US Pacific Command attended an opening ceremony yesterday in Thailand's Chonburi Province for the first time in 3 years. The 11-day exercise is to include landing drills using amphibious vehicles and humanitarian assistance projects.

Infibeam e-comm site to merge CCAvenue with itself :

Infibeam, the first e-commerce company in India listed with SEBI, has announced plans to merge operations with online payment gateway CCAvenue. The deal is expected to value CCAvenue at ₹2,000 crore. Founded in 2010 by former Amazon executive Vishal Mehta, Infibeam will also invest ₹150 crore for a 7.5% stake in CCAvenue, in addition to the 3.85% it currently owns.
Dropping packages through parachutes got patented by Amazon :

E-commerce major Amazon has been granted a patent to drop packages being delivered by drones using parachutes. The patent claims using parachutes will reduce the time and energy that is usually spent in landing and relaunching the drone from each drop-off location. In December 2016, Amazon had filed a patent for a flying warehouse for drone deliveries.

ISRO creates world record by  launching 104 satellites in single rocket :

The Indian Space Research Organisation today successfully launched 104 satellites in one go, breaking the world record for the most number of satellites launched from a single rocket. Its PSLV launch system carried a 714-kg Cartosat-2 series earth observing satellite and 103 co-passenger satellites together weighing about 664 kg. Russia held the previous record of 37 satellites, launched in 2014.

Nayif -1 the UAE’s nano satellite which can also propells itself in space :

Out of the 104 satellites successfully launched today , UAE’s nano satellite Nayif -1 developed by Emirati engineering graduates from the American University of Sharjah (AUS ) in association with Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) also propelled itself in the space. Its main mission objective is to send and receive messages on Amateur Radio frequencies. The nano satellite boasts a number of advanced features, most notably that it is programmed to transfer messages in Arabic. It also holds an Active Control System Board that has not been launched into space before.

Agreement to boost bilateral trade & to enhance economic cooperation got signed b/w India and Croatia :

India and Croatia have signed an agreement to boost bilateral trade and enhance economic cooperation.The agreement was signed by Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Martina Dalic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, Government of the Republic of Croatia, yesterday in Zagreb.
An official statement said the present Agreement between India and Croatia would be a step in continuity as the last one expired in November 2009. Both the countries earlier signed an agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation in September, 1994 with an aim to promote and develop bilateral trade and economic relations.

Laureus Awards 2017 won by Simone Biles, Usain Bolt :

American gymnast Simone Biles and Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt won the Laureus Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year awards on Tuesday, respectively. Bolt, who won three gold medals at Rio Olympics, matched Roger Federer with record 4th Laureus Sportsman of the Year award. 19-year-old Biles became the first gymnast to win the award in the men's or women's category.
Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh  to be given honorary doctorate :

Sandeep Singh has become the second hockey player in the country to receive an honorary doctorate, being awarded one for "sporting excellence" by Desh Bhagat University, a private institution in Punjab. Former captain and current Member of Parliament, Dilip Tirkey, was the first Indian hockey player to be awarded an honorary doctorate, being given one by Sambalpur University in 2010.

Jean-Pierre Lacroix of France becomes new UN peacekeeping chief :

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has announced the appointment of Jean-Pierre Lacroix of France to head UN peacekeeping for a year pending a review of the world body's functions and structure. The UN's political affairs chief, Jeffrey Feltman of the United States, will remain at this post, also for a year.
The two positions of under-secretary-general are among the most high-profile at the United Nations. Lacroix, 56, will replace Herve Ladsous who steps down in March after six years in the top job.
US defence attache in India made India, South Asia Director :

The US defence attache in India has been made in charge of India, Pakistan and Central Asian Affairs at the National Security Council of the White House. In a routine administration postings, the Pentagon yesterday said Brigadier General Robin Fontes has been posted as senior director for India, Pakistan and Central Asian
Affairs at the National Security Council in the White House.
Fontes would be in charge of White House policy on India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other South Asian countries and Central Asia. She would be replacing Peter Lavoy, who was Director (South Asia) in the previous Obama administration.
