Constitution day-> 26th November
i. On this day in 1949, constitution of India was adopted and came into force on January 26, 1950 marking the beginning of a new era in the history of free India.
ii. The Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE) is the nodal Ministry for the celebration of Constitution Day.
iii. On this occasion Prime Minister Narendra has released two books on Constitution ‘Making of Constitution’ and ‘New Version of Constitution of India’.
International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women: 25 November
IAS officer wins gold in Para-Badminton Championships
i. Uttar Pradesh-based IAS officer Suhas LY won the Asian Para-Badminton Championships in Beijing after defeating Indonesia's Harry Susanto 21-4, 21-11 in the final.
ii. Suhas, who is currently posted as the Azamgarh district magistrate, was a wildcard entry to the tournament and had won six consecutive matches to reach the final.PM Modi launches Indian Police app that helps you locate nearest police stations
i. An app launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27th November helps the citizen locate the nearest police stations wherever he or she is Not just that, the Indian Police app provides the names of the police stations, the telephone numbers, the distance from the place where you are and how much time it will take to reach whichever police station one wants to go to.
ii. The app also prompts one to call any of the numbers listed with the 'Tap to call' facility.
Indian journalist gets International Press Freedom Award
i. Indian Journalist Malini Subramaniam has been conferred with the International Press Freedom Award for her reporting from Chhattisgarh's Naxal-infested Bastar area.
ii. She is one of the four journalists felicitated for their commitment to a free press.
iii. Subramaniam, a contributor to 'Scroll', has reported on abuses by security forces, sexual violence, jailing of minors and other issues in the region.Susan Kiefel becomes first woman appointed as high court chief justice
i. Susan Kiefel has been named Australia's first female High Court chief justice – ending 113 years of men leading the nation's highest court.
ii. After months of speculation about who would replace retiring chief Robert French, the Turnbull government appointed serving High Court Justice Kiefel to the role.
