5). B) Work done by pipe B in 1 hours
Let capacity of tank = x liter
Pipe B can fill it in x/300 hr
(1/12) – (300/x) = 1/12 à( 1/12) – (1/15) = 300/x
1/60 = 300/x
x = 300×60 = 18000 liters
6). D) Old price = 100, New price = 125
Price = 4 : 5, Quantity = 5 : 4.4
Expenditure = Price × Quantity = 4×5 = (20 × 110) / 100
22/5 = 4.4, (0.6/5) × 100 = 12%
8). A) New speed = 7/11 of the usual speed
New time taken = 11/7 of the usual time
22 = 11/7 of the usual time,
usual time = 14hrs.
9). B) A opened for ( 7 – 11)am. = 4hrs.
B opened for ( 10 – 11)am = 1hrs.
(4/12) + (1/15) + (4t/20) = 1,    (20 + 4 + 12t) / 60 , 12t = 36
t = 3 hrs.  After 11am, i.e - 2:00 pm
10). B) Let speed of the train is x and y m/sec.
Length of first train = 28x
Length of Second train = 15y sec.
(28x + 15y) / (x + y) = 22
28x + 15 y = 22x + 22y


6x = 7y ,     x : y = 7 : 6
