The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today announced that Surekha Marandi has been appointed as the new Executive Director (ED). She holds a Master’s Degree from Jadavpur University. In this new role, she will look after onsumer Education and Protection Department, Financial Inclusion and Development Department and Secretary’s Department.
Prior to this, Marandi was principal chief general manager and chief vigilance officer in RBI. She has over a span of three decades served in regulatory and supervisory, financial inclusion and development and human resource management areas in the RBI. She is going to replace U S Paliwal who retired on 31st December 2106.
