Solutions:
1). C)Let the third number is x.
then first number = (100-30)% of x
= 70% of x = 7x/10
Second number is (63x/100)
Difference = 7x/10 - 63x/100 = 7x/10
So required percentage is, difference is what percent of first number
=> (7x/100 * 10/7x * 100 )% = 10%
2). D)Failed in mathematics, n(A) = 34
Failed in English, n(B) = 42
n(AUB) = n(A) + n (B) – n (A∩ B )
= 34 + 42- 20 = 56
Failed in either or both subjects are 56
Percentage passed = (100−56)% = 44%
3). A)Reduction in consumption = [((R/(100+R))*100]%
? [(25/125)*100]%=20%.
4). A)Value of the machine 2 years ago
= Rs.[162000/(1-(10/100)2)]=Rs.[162000*(10/9)*(10/9)]= Rs.200000
5). C)Let the number be x
Then, error = (5/3)x – (3/5)x =(16/15)x
Error% = [(16x/15) /(5x/3)] * 100% = 64%
6). A)Statement : K > I ≥ T ≥ E; O < R < K
On combining both the statements, we get
O < R < K > I ≥ T ≥ E
Conclusions : I. R < E (false)
II. O < T (false)
Thus, neither conclusion I nor II follows
7). B)Statement : C < L < O = U = D ≥ S > Y
Here statements are already combined
Conclusions : I. O > Y (true)
II. C
Thus, both conclusion I and II follow
8). E)Statement : K ≥ L > M ≥ N
Here statements are already combined
Conclusions : I. N ≤ K (false)
II. N < K (true)
Thus, only conclusion II follows
9). D)Statement : Z ≥ Y = W ≤ X
Here statements are already combined
Conclusions : I. W < Z (may be true)
II. W = Z (may be true)
Thus, either conclusion I or II follows
10). D)Statement : B > A > S < I > C > L > Y
Here statements are already combined
Conclusions : I. B > L (false)
II. A > Y (false)
Thus, neither conclusion I nor II follows
(11 – 15):Correct Order is CGEAFBD
11. B) 12. B) 13. E) 14. A) 15. D) 16. C) 17. A) 18. D) 19. B) 20. D) 21. C) 22. C) 23. C) 24. B) 25. A)
