b)   750
c)   900
d)   1200
e)   None of the Above

Detailed Solution with Answer Key:
1). This is a simple question of relative speed. Time taken by Kavita to reach Sandeep = 56/(48 - 40) = 7 hr Distance between Sandeep and Kanha after this time = (40 - 15) 7 = 175 km.
This means that Sandeep has crossed Kanha much before Kavita and Sandeep meet. Now the distance between them would be, (175- 150) = 25 km.
Answer: C)
2). Let Ram buy 7X, 13X, 19X chocolates, chips and pastries respectively. Let the cost of the chocolates, chips and pastries be 23Y, 7Y, 11Y respectively. Total expenses = XY (23 x 7 + 7 x 13 + 11 x 19)
percentage expenses from chocolates = 100 x (23Y x 7X)/ (XY (23 x 7 + 7 x 13 + 11 x 19))
= 161 x 100/(161 + 91 + 209)
= 161 x 100/461
= Approx. 35%.
Answer: C)
3). 661.5/600 = (1 + r/100)2
661.5/600 = 441/400 = (21/20) x (21/20) = (1 + r/100)2
8000 will become : 8000 x 1.053 = Rs. 9261
Answer: E)
4). Let total students be x, average y Total weight initially = xy
Given: (xy + 5 x 25)/(x+5) = y - 3
Or, 5y - 3x = 140
Given: (xy - 5x25)/(x-5) = y + 5
5y- 5x= 100 or y=x+ 20
Using this: 5y - 3x = 5(x+20) -3x = 2x + 100 = 140
or x= 20,y= 40
So average weight = 40 kgs.
Answer: D)
5). Area of the field the cow can graze = ᅲ x 142= (22/7) x 14 x 14 = 616 sq ft. Number of days = 616/100
= Approx. 6 days.
Answer: B)
6). Required Probability = 1 - no ecommerce site delivers on time
=1 –(1 - 0.4) x (1 -0.5) x (1 -0.7)
= 1 - 0.6 x 0.5 x 0.3
= 1 - 0.09 = 0.91
Answer: D)
7). 240 = 20% profit
So, CP of article = 240x100/120 = Rs. 200 and profit = Rs. 40.
Now new CP = 200 x 1.25 = Rs. 250, Desired Profit = 40 x 1.6 = 64.
So new SP = 250 + 64 = 314.
Answer: E)
8). When both the pipes are open, portion of the tank filled in 1 minute = 1/20 + 1/30 = 1/12. Hence, it takes 12 minutes to fill the tank. Therefore, half tank will be filled in 6 minutes. Time taken to fill the remaining half of the tank with outlet pipe = 24 - 6 = 18 minutes.
Let the portion of the tank leaked in one minute be 1/a. Now, the second half of the tank gets filled in 18 minutes. So, 18(1/20 + 1/30 - 1/a) = ½
1/12 - 1/a = 1/36 Or 1/a = 1/18.
Hence the leakage pipe can empty the full tank in 18 minutes. It pumps out 50 litres of water per minute. Therefore the capacity of the tank is 900 litres.
Answer: A)
9). speed in ratio = 2:3,
Distance is same. So, time of A and B will be in the ratio = 3:2
difference =10 min, so time taken by A = 30 min, B = 20 min.
If A walks at triple the speed, time taken by A = 30/3 = 10 min
If B walks at half the speed, time taken by B = 20 x 2 = 40 min Difference = 40 -10 = 30 min.
Answer: D)
10). Let Students contribution be S, Teachers = 1.5S, principal's contribution = 4.5S Given S + 1.5S + 4.5S = 7S = Rs. 4200.
 S = 600. Teachers contribution = 1.5S = Rs. 900

Answer: C)
