- Through - from the beginning to the end of a period of time
- Storm - an occasion when a lot of rain falls very quickly, often with very strong winds or thunder and lightning
- Devastating - causing a lot of damage or destruction
- Deluge - a very large amount of rain or water
- Resilience - ability to quickly return to a previous good condition
- Severe - causing very great pain, difficulty, worry, damage, etc (very serious)
- Equipped - having the skills / equipment needed to do something
- Survival - the fact of a person, organization, etc. continuing to live or exist
- Disaster - (an event that results in) great harm, damage, or death, or serious difficulty
- Neighbouring - near each other
- Fierce - strong and powerful
- Uproot - to pull a whole tree or plant from the ground, including all the roots that grow in the soil
- Torn down - to destroy or remove a structure or part of a structure
- Irredeemably - impossible to correct, improve, or change
- Hobbled - to limit something or control the freedom of someone
- Infrastructure - the basic systems and services, such as transport and power supplies, that a city or organization uses in order to work effectively
- Nightfall - the time in the evening when it becomes dark
- Mobility- the ability to move freely
- Ply - to make journey regularly
- Catastrophe - a sudden event that causes very great trouble or destruction
- Inevitable - something that is certain to happen and cannot be prevented
- Cautionary - warning someone that they should be careful
- Urging - advising someone very strongly about what action they should take
- Casualties - someone who is injured or killed in an accident
- Alacrity - quickly
- Harnessing - to get control of something in order to use it for a particular purpose
- Vulnerable - able to be easily physically, emotionally, or mentally hurt, influenced, or attacked
- Pummelling - to cause a lot of damage to a place
- Impact - an effect, or an influence
- Coastal - on land beside a sea
- Vital - very important, necessary, or essential
- Disaster - something very bad that happens and causes a lot of damage or kills a lot of people
- Viable - able to work as expected or able to succeed
- Scrutiny - the careful and detailed examination of something in order to get information about it
- Blackout - a short period when the electricity supply to a building or district is stopped, especially at night
- Pruning - to remove parts of a tree or plant, to make it grow better
- Canopy - the branches and leaves that spread out at the top of a group of trees forming a type of roof
- Aftermath - the period that follows an unpleasant event or accident, and the effects that it causes

- Waive - to choose to officially ignore a rule
- Import - to buy or bring in products from another country
- Predictably - happening in the way you expected
- Flak - strong criticism or opposition:
- Assertion - a definite statement or claim that something is true
- Demonetisation - to officially stop using particular notes or coins, or a particular currency
- Impact - an effect, or an influence
- Rabi - the grain crop that is cut and collected in spring season
- Crop - a plant such as a grain, fruit, or vegetable grown in large amounts
- Plausible - seeming likely to be true, or able to be believed
- Dumping - the act of getting rid of something that is not wanted
- Minimum support price - the minimum price for something, for example for a food product, that is set by the government (if the real price falls below this price, the government pays farmers, etc. the difference between the two prices)
- Distress - a situation in which you are suffering or are in great danger and therefore in urgent need of help
- Harvest - to pick and collect crops, to eat
- Forecast - to say what you expect to happen in the future
- Inflation - a general, continuous increase in prices
- Cooling off - if sales, prices etc cool off, they become lower
- Monsoon - the season of heavy rain
- Drought - a long period when there is little or no rain
- Swiftly - happening quickly or immediately
- Fiddling - to move or change something
- Regime - a system of rules that control something
- Speculation - ideas or discussion about why something has happened or what might happen
- Adequate - enough or satisfactory for a particular purpose
- Obviously - in a way that is clear for almost anyone to see or understand
- Surge - a sudden and great increase
- Demonetisation - to officially stop using particular notes or coins, or a particular currency
- Hoarding - to save / hid a large amount of something
- Profiteering - to take advantage of a situation in which other people are suffering to make a profit, often by selling goods that are difficult to get at a high price
- Shipment - a large amount of goods sent together to a place
- Overseas - from other countries
- Sowing - to put seeds in or on the ground so that plants will grow
- Provocation - something that causes you to react in an angry or violent way
- Procurement - to get something (especially after an effort)
- Action plan - a detailed set of instructions to follow in order to solve a problem or achieve something
