Reference Books for Bank PO & Clerk Exams

Hello Banking Aspirants

Most of you are preparing for Banking Exams. In order to crack a Banking Exam, one must have good Accuracy and Time Management skills. In addition, a candidate must emphasize a lot on Practice for Bank Exams. The most common question that candidates face is that what the good sets of Books for different sections are.

Reference Book for Bank PO & Clerk Exams

Here we are sharing with you reference Books, magazines for each section of Bank Exams.

Reasoning Ability – The Reasoning Section can be covered from the following books.

  • Modern Approach to Verbal and Non –Verbal Reasoning by R S Aggarwal.
  • Analytical Reasoning (BSC publication) by M K Pandey.

In addition for High level reasoning Questions, you can practice from Practice Sets by Arihant /Kiran Publications, which contain questions according to the Exam Structure.

Quantitative Aptitude – The topics of Quantitative Aptitude asked in Bank PO & Clerk Exams can be covered from the following books.

  • Fast track by Rajesh Verma (Arihant publications)
  • Quantitative aptitude by R S Aggarwal.

You can couple it with Arihant /Kiran Publications’ Practice Sets.

However the SBI PO Mains Exam is more focused on Data Interpretation, so for Data Interpretation and Analysis, refer to Accredited Guide to Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency by Ananta Ashisha (Arihant Publications).

English Language – This section consists of questions that test candidates Vocabulary Knowledge, Reading Skills, and Grammar Knowledge. For Grammar Rules, you can refer to following Books:

  • Objective general English by S P Bakshi (Arihant Publications).
  • Mirror of Common Error by Ashok Kumar Singh.

For Building Strong Vocabulary, you can refer to Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis and GradeUp’s Daily Wordlist.

In addition, we are currently working on a series for English Grammar by the name English Master Series, these modules helps one get clear insight on English Grammar.

General Awareness – For Bank Exams, this section consists of questions from various topics such as Banking Awareness, Economy, Current Affairs, Static GK.

For Banking Awareness, you can refer to following Books:

  • Money, Banking and Finance by BSC Publication
  • Handbook of Banking information by S. Toor
  • Banking Awareness by Arihant Publications

Note: These Books also cover Economy topics that are asked in Bank Exams except Budget. Budget, you can find in Current Affairs Magazine for the month of March.

For Current Affairs, you can refer to any Current Affair Magazine. The most popular among them are given below:

  • Pratiyogita Darpan
  • Banking Service Chronicle
  • Business Today
