156, 173, 131, 181, 94, ?
Solution :
156+17*1 = 173
173-21*2 = 131


131 + 25*3 = 206
206-29*4 = 90
90+33*5 = 255

Ques 2.

I.2X^2+ 11X + 12= 0 ; II.2Y^2+ 19Y + 45 = 0
Solution :
==> 2X^2 +8X+3X+12 =0
==> 2X(X+4)+3(X+4) =0
==> (2X+3)(X+4) =0
==> X = -3/2 and -4
==> 2Y^2+10Y+9Y+45 = 0
==> 2Y(Y+5)+9(Y+5) = 0
==> (2Y+9)(Y+5)=0
==> Y = -9/4 and -5

Ques 3.

P and Q undertake to complete a piece of work for Rupees 2400. P can do it in 16 days, Q can do it in 24 days and with the help of R they complete the work in 8 days. Find the share of R?
Solution :
L.C.M of 16 , 24 and 8 = 48
P efficiency = 48/16 = 3
Q efficiency = 48/24 =2
R efficiency = 48/8 - 5 = 1
R share = 1/6 * 2400 = 400

Ques 4.

Find Approximate value (31.98)² – (35.02)² + (18.03)² = ?
Solution :
==> 31^2  - 35^2+18^2
==>961 - 1225 + 324 = 60

Ques 5.

Ravi borrows a sum of Rs.3000 at the beginning of a year. After four months Rs.4200 more is borrowed at a rate of interest double the previous one. At the end of one year, the sum of interest on both the loans is Rs.832. What is the first rate of interest per anum?
Solution :
(3000*1*x)/100 + (4200*8/12 * 2x)/100 = 832
==> 30x + 56x = 832
==> X = 832/86 =9.67

Ques 6.

The ratio of the ages of A and B is 2:5. After 8 years, their ages will be in the ratio of 2:3. Then the sum of their present ages
Solution :
==> (2x+8)/(5x+8) = 2/3
==> X = 14

Ques 7.

The average of four consecutive ODD number is 56.Find the largest number.
Solution :
==> X+X+2+X+4+X+6 = 56
==> 4X +12 = 56
==> X = 11
Largest number = 11+6 =17

Ques 8.

The Surface area of cube is 216 m^2. Find it’s diagonal
Solution :
6a^2= 216
a^2= 216/6 = 36
a= 6
Diagonal = a√3 = 6*1.73 = 10.38m

Ques 9.

The price of a Wallet and a Cardholder is Rs.240. The wallet was sold at a 40% profit and the Cardholder at a loss of 10%. If the Shop keeper gains Rs.20 in the whole transaction, then how much is the cost price of wallet?
Solution :
Wallet = X
Cardholder = 240-X
==> 40X /100- 10(240-X)/100 = 20

Ques 10.

A started a business by investing Rs. 16000.After 2 months B joined him with some investments. At the end of the year the total profit was divided in the ratio 8:5. How much capital was invested by B ?
Solution :
==> (16000*12) / (X *8 ) = 8/5
==> X = 12000
