Solution :
==> x^2 -7x+4x-21=0
==>X = 7 , -4
==> y^2-18y-17y+306=0
==> Y = 18 , 17

Ques 4.

10 men and 15 women can complete the job in 16 days.In how many days can 2 men and 3 women finish the same job working together ?
Solution :
 10 Men + 15 women finish a job = 16 days
2 men + 3 women finish a job = 16*5 = 40 days

Ques 5.

464.83 + 40.14 / 7.84 + 6.26 / 0.91 = ? . Find approximate value ?
Solution :
==> 467+40/8+6/1

Ques 6.

One year ago the ratio between A and B’s age was 4:3. One year hence the ratio of their ages will be 5:4. What is the sum of their present ages in years?
Solution :
 One year ago ratio = 4:3 ( ratio difference = 4-3=1)
One year hence ratio = 5:4 (Ratio difference = 5-4=1)
New ratios :
One year ago ratio = 4:3 *1 = 4:3
One year hence ratio = 5:4 *1 = 5:4
Difference in A ratio = 5-4 = 1
1 unit ------- 2 year
9 unit ------- 18 years
Sum of their ages 1 year hence = 18
Present = 18-2 =16 years

Ques 7.

A student  gets 60 marks out of 100 in English, 80 out of 150 in Chemistry and X out of 150 in maths. The total  marks of student in all the three subjects is 50% . Find X value ?
Solution :
Total marks = 100+150+150 = 400
Total obtained marks = 60+80+X
Overall percentage = 50
==> (140+X)/(400) * 100 = 50
==> X = 60

Ques 8.

The CI on Rs.10000 for 3 years at 5% for first year, 8% for second year, 10% for the third year will be
Solution :
==>10000*105/100*108/100*110/100
CI = 12474-10000 = 2474

Ques 9.

A bus travels at the rate of 60 kmph without stoppages and it travels at 45 kmph with stoppages. How many minutes does the bus stop on an average per hour?
Solution :
Difference of speed /without stoppage speed  * 60
==> 15/60 *60 = 15 min

Ques 10.

A got 5000 as his share out of the total profit of 9000. A had invested 3000 rupees for 6 months while B invested for the whole year. Find the amount invested by B.
Solution :
  Ratio = 5000 : 4000 = 5: 4
==>   3000*6 : X *12 = 5:4
==> X = 1200
