Key points of 2016 G20 Hangzhou summit

Strengthening Policy Coordination

Determined to use all policy tools – monetary, fiscal and structural – individually and collectively to achieve our goal of strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth. Monetary policy will continue to support economic activity and ensure price stability, consistent with central banks’ mandates, but monetary policy alone cannot lead to balanced growth. Underscoring the essential role of structural reforms, we emphasize that our fiscal strategies are equally important to supporting our common growth objectives.

Breaking a New Path for Growth

To be dynamic and create more jobs, must be powered by new driving forces. While reaffirming the importance of addressing shortfalls in global demand to support short-term growth, it is also imperative to address supply side constraints so as to raise productivity sustainably, expand the frontier of production and unleash mid- to long-term growth potential.

More Effective and Efficient Global Economic and Financial Governance

Growth, to be resilient, must be underpinned by effective and efficient global economic and financial architecture, will continue to improve the analysis and monitoring of capital flows and management of risks stemming from excessive capital flow volatility. Look forward to the IMF’s review of country experiences and emerging issues in handling capital flows by year-end. Note the ongoing work on the review of the OECD Code of Liberalization of Capital Movements, support work to further strengthen the Global Financial Safety Net (GFSN), with a strong, quota-based and adequately resourced IMF at its center, equipped with a more effective toolkit, and with more effective cooperation between the IMF and regional financing arrangements (RFAs), respecting their mandates

Robust International Trade and Investment

Our growth, to be strong, must be reinforced by inclusive, robust and sustainable trade and investment growth. We note with concern the slow growth in trade and investment globally and commit to enhance an open world economy by working towards trade and investment facilitation and liberalization. We recognize the importance of economic diversification and industrial upgrading in developing countries to benefit from more open global markets. We endorse the outcome of the G20 Trade Ministers Meeting held in Shanghai on 9-10 July, and welcome the establishment of the G20 Trade and Investment Working Group (TIWG). We commit to further strengthen G20 trade and investment cooperation.

Inclusive and Interconnected Development

Growth, to be strong, sustainable and balanced, must also be inclusive. Committed to ensuring the benefits of our growth reach all people and maximize the growth potential of developing and low-income countries. We place sustainable development high on the G20 agenda.

Further Significant Global Challenges Affecting the World Economy

The outcome of the referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU adds to the uncertainty in the global economy. Members of the G20 are well positioned to proactively address the potential economic and financial consequences stemming from the referendum. In the future, we hope to see the UK as a close partner of the EU. reaffirm that the G20’s founding spirit is to bring together the major economies on an equal footing to catalyze action. Once we agree, we will deliver.

The main themes final communiqué of the summit are:

  • Fight against tax evasion (asking the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development for a black list of tax heavens).
  • Favour international trade and investments and opposition to protectionism.
  • Fiscal stimulus and innovation to boost economic growth.
  • Combating “populist attacks” against globalisation.
  • Strengthen support for refugees.

Global warming

On 3 September 2016, Barack Obama and Xi Jinping announced the ratification of the Paris Agreement (of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference) by their countries. After they did it, it is 26 countries which have ratified the agreement so far The United States and China represent respectively 18 percent and 20 percent of global carbon dioxide emissions (the driving force behind global warming).

About G-20 Summits

In 2008, the first G20 Leaders’ Summit was held, and the group played a key role in responding to the global financial crisis. Its decisive and coordinated actions boosted consumer and business confidence and supported the first stages of economic recovery. G20 leaders have met eight times since 2008.

The Group of Twenty (G20) is the premier forum for its members’ international economic cooperation and decision-making. It comprises 19 countries plus the European Union. G20 leaders meet annually; additionally, during the year, Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meet regularly to discuss ways to strengthen the global economy, reform international financial institutions, improve financial regulation, and discuss the key economic reforms that are needed in each of the member countries.

Below is the SBI PO 2016 Interview Experience of GradeUp user.

Interview Experience SBI PO 2016 Exam

Friends I have given my SBI PO Gd and interview yesterday.

Timing: 8 am

Venue: SBI Learning Center,Chennai.

I reached the venue by 7.30. As soon as I reached they have started the document verification.

The certificate verification has gone smooth. The verifying officials had a facility to take photocopies even if we missed few.

A guy from my panel has outdated OBC certificate. They got a declaration form him to submit the renewed certificate by 10th September.

Then comes biometric verification. They asked us to have breakfast in  canteen before GD starts. After everyone done with their Breakfast we arrived at our Gd hall.

The assessment panel contains two retired officers from SBI. Before starting the GD they asked everyone to introduce themselves with work experience. They made us clear with the GD rules. GD contains two phases-in the first phase they gave us the topic ‘Populist measures by successive governments that reduced the growth and development’ given with 5 minutes of preparation time and then we discussed among us for 20 minutes.

Second phase we were given with a sheet mentioning an issue and its solutions. We were asked to prioritise the solution and discuss on it for 20 minutes. In both the phases we could not arrive with the consensus. Soon after the GD round, the Personal interview has started. Candidates were called as per their sequence number in the batch. The panel contains a lady and 4 gentlemen. All were senior officials. As soon as I entered the room,I wished everyone and took my seat after they asked me to sit. Since everyone in the panel had the photocopies of my bio data form, questions were asked from it.

Related to my hobby,

my native place,

my graduation and

experience.

They asked few questions from newspaper, like the new governor of Tamilnadu who has taken office yesterday.

They asked some general questions to test my attitude like ‘is Banking job safe for women employees’

and ‘does women need reservation in Govt Jobs‘.

Overall the panel was friendly and I have answered most of the questions positively.

Hope this post would help others preparing for SBI PO interview. All the best friends.Be confident and Rock the interview.
