Directions (6 – 11): Study the following information carefully to answer these questions.

Seven professors A, B, C, D, E, F and G who are from three different Management Institutes Ace, Pride and Paramount have to visit seven different places Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Jaipur with respect to pursuing their projects. There are at least two professors from each of the institute. The order of professors and cities may not be necessarily the same. Each one flies by a different airline Spicejet, K-F, Sahara, Jet, Air Deccan, IA, Swift Air, not necessary in the same order. There are at least two females and at most four males among them. Both the genders are there in each institute.

C, who works with only one other professor in Pride, goes to Kolkata but not by Sahara or Jet Airlines. D flies by Swift Air to Bangalore. The female, who is not working in Paramount, goes to Jaipur but does not travel by Air Deccan or Sahara. E, a male, travels by Air Deccan and is associated with only one other professor who is in Paramount management institute. There is only one male professor among those who are in Ace management institute. A does not go to Ahmedabad. F, who is in the same institute as D, travels to Hyderabad by Spice jet. B is working in Ace and he goes to Chennai by K-F. E does not go to Ahmedabad. G does not go to Jaipur.

Solutions:

Number of students of JNU listen to Radio City = 120000 x 20/100 x 65/100 = 15600

The number of Indraprastha students listening to Rainbow = 120000 × 13% × 48%

The number of Jamia students listening to FM Gold = 120000 × 18% × 52%

Therefore, Required percentage = (120000 x 13% x 48%)/(120000 x 18% x 52%) x 100 = 66.66%

The number of Indraprastha students listening to Red FM = 120000 x 13/100 x 46/100 = 12 x 598

The number of Jamia students listening to Red FM = 120000 x 18/100 x 36/100 = 12 x 648

Therefore total students = (12 x 598) + (12 x 648) = 12 x 1246 = 14952

(6 – 11):

Firstly, let us focus on the concrete data:

i) C, who works with only one other professor in Pride, goes to Kolkata. So, it clearly indicates that C + only one work in Pride, and C goes to Kolkata.

ii) D flies by swift Air to Bangalore

iii) E, a male, travels by Air Deccan and is working with only one other professor in Paramount management institute. So, it clearly indicates that E + only one work in Paramount.

iv) There is only one male professor among those who are in Ace Management institute.

v) F, who is in the same institute as D, travels to Hyderabad by Spice jet.

vi) B is working in Ace and he goes to Chennai by K-F

So, as only 2 persons work in each of the institutes - Pride and Paramount, we can safely conclude that 3 professors work in Ace. Now, "F, who is in the same institute as D," confirms that F and D are in Ace.

It can be concluded that A works in Pride

So the basic data can be tabulated as follows

Note: There are atleast two females and atmost four males among them. Both the genders are there in each institute. It means that minimum two females and maximum four males are there among them. But, it does not conform that there are four males.
