IBPS conduct IBPS PO exam every year for recrutment of Probationary Officers in Public Sector Banks.
What is Cutoff? Why it is important?
For clearing IBPS PO Exam and recruited as PO in Bank, you need to clear certain cutoff i.e minimum marks to qualify for next phase or round.
Like- For appearing in IBPS PO Mains Exam you need to clear Preliminary Exam with certain marks in each section.
From 2015 exam onwards, IBPS has started two tier exam pattern-
1. Preliminary Exam i.e Phase I
2. Mains Exam i.e Phase II
One thing that students need to keep in mind is that cutoff is applied at sectional level and overall all means you need to secure minimum marks in each section and minimum marks to qualify for next phase.
For Example- Suppose Mr. X scores in English -10 marks, Reasoning-10 marks, Quantitative aptitude-12 marks.
Mr. X total Marks is- 32 out of 100 for Preliminary exam.
IBPS has cutoff at two levels in this stage-
1. at section level and
2. at overall.
Now IBPS has Sectional cutoff like English -10 marks, Reasoning-10 marks, Quantitative aptitude-12 marks.
Overall cutoff-34
So,Mr. X get minimum marks in each section as per IBPS Sectional cutoff but not get overall minimum cutoff, then he is not qualify for Mains exam.
Note- Exam mode is online for both Preliminary and Mains exam.Those Candidates who clear both stages will be called for Interview.
IBPS PO 2015 Preliminary Cutoff-On the basis of difficulty level , number of vacancies IBPS fix cutoffs.

IBPS PO 2015 Mains Cutoff- Those who qualify Preliminary exam called for Mains exam.

IBPS PO 2015 Final Selection Cutoff- By combining Mains marks and Interview Marks Final allotment is done.
Total Marks out of 100 for Allotment.
Mains Marks ratio -80(if you score 70 out of 200 then 70/200*100=35)
Interview Marks -20 (if you score 50 out of 100 then 10 marks out of 20 )
