PM Modi to launch Mission Bhagiratha

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Sunday inaugurate a massive 40,000-crore Telangana state water grid ‘Mission Bhagiratha’. 
• Purpose is to provide safe drinking water to 67 thousand households of the Gajwel Assembly constituency through a pipeline at Komatibanda, Gajwel in Medak district.

• Leander Paes, of India (right) with his partner Rohan Bopanna at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday. Paes and Bopanna lost their first round match to Poland's Lukasz Kubot and Marcin Matkowski.

• Niti Aayog has identified eight PSUs for closure after finding them unfit for revival. 
• Once the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) gives the in- principle approval to the proposal, the ministry responsible for administration of these PSUs will prepare detailed plan for closure of these firms, the source said.

Telangana teams up with ISRO for water resources info system

• Telangana Irrigation Department on Saturday signed an agreement with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for monitoring water resources in the state with the help of space technology.
