1. LIVID (ADJECTIVE): upset

Synonyms: somber, gloomy 

Antonyms: cheerful, happy 

Example Sentence:

2. NOSTALGIA (NOUN): a longing for a time or event that has passed

Synonyms: yearning, remembrance Antonyms: despising, loathing

Example Sentence: 

This place triggers nostalgia of my college days.


3. OBVERSE (ADJECTIVE): the reverse of a certainty or fact

Synonyms: opposite, unlike Antonym: similar, compatible

Example Sentence: 

Proving the obverse to your opponent’s idea would make you win the debate.


4. MAJESTIC (ADJECTIVE): displaying impressive grandeur

Synonyms: impressive, splendid Antonyms: shabby, lowly

Example Sentence:

King Ashoka was a majestic man with a charismatic persona.


5. LAGGARD (NOUN): one who loses due to laziness.

Synonyms: straggler, lingerer Antonyms: winner, hard worker

Synonyms: apparent, assured Antonyms: dubious, questionable

8. ACQUIESCE (VERB): agree with some reluctance

Synonyms: conform, comply Antonyms: deny, resist

Example Sentence:

I would rather acquiesce to his wish than listen to his constant blabbering.


9. ABROGATE (VERB): put an end to

Synonyms: annul, abolish Antonyms: validate, permit

Example sentence: 

No one can abrogate your freedom to speech.


10. LEVY (VERB): impose

Synonyms: demand, enforce Antonyms: prevent, remove

Example Sentence: 

Not all governments levy a water and land tax on their citizen.
