The person from Kolkata is sitting second to the right of the person from Kota and second to the left of Kohli, who is not sitting near the person who is from Bhatinda. Warner is sitting on the smaller side and to the right of the person who is from Bhatinda. Persons from Kota and Kolkata are not on the same side of the table. The person from Kolkata is sitting third to the right of the person from Amritsar, who is not sitting diagonally opposite the person from Kanpur. The person from Kolkata is third to the left of Dhoni. Gayle sits second to the left of Raina. The person from Kanpur sits opposite to the person from Kota.

10).If the person who belongs to Bhatinda and Dhoni exchanges there place in the arrangement who sits exactly right to the person who belongs to Kanpur?

Directions (Q. 11-15): Read each sentence to find out whether there is any grammatical error in it. The error, if any, will be in one part of the sentence. The number of that part is the answer. If there is no error, the answer is e) i.e. ‘No Error’. (Ignore the errors of punctuation, if any).
11). This laboratory of physics is  a)/ not only equipped with b)/ all state-of-the-art instruments  c)/ but also with outstanding physicists. d)/ No error e).
12). No method of marketing a)/ other people agree to b) your view-point is c)/ as effect as this method d)/ No error e).
13). I was pretty sure that a)/ he would support my views b)/ for changing the age-old  c)/ and static structure of our organisation. d)/ No error e).
14). I did not like his a)/ commends on my paper b)/ but I had no alternative c)/ as I had agreed to keep quit. d)/ No error e).
15). The report is candid in admitting a)/ that the investment by the government b)/ in health and family planning c)/ have been eroded considerably. d)/ No error e).
1)b   2)c   3)d   4)e  5)b   6)a   7)b   8)c   9)d   10)e  11)b   12)a   13)c   14)c  15)d
Solutions:
1). b)Required Average = (67 × 2 + 35 × 2 + 6 × 2)/(2 + 2 + 2) = (134 + 70 + 18)/7 = 222/7 = 31 5/7 years.
2). c)Let the side of the square be a.
2 x Area of semicircle of radius ‘r’ = area of circle with radius = x r2
A = r √
Perimeter of square = 4a = 4 x 7 √= 28 √
Perimeter of semicircle = 7 x (22/7) + 2 x 7 = 36 cm
Difference = 28 √- 36
3). d)Let X, Y, Z, W be the inlet pipes
1/X + 1/Y + 1/Z = 1/12
1/Y + 1/Z + 1/W = 1/15
1/X + 1/W = 1/20
Adding the three equations,
2(1/X + 1/Y + 1/Z) = 1/12 + 1/15 + 1/20 = 12/60 = 1/5
(1/X + 1/Y + 1/Z) = 1/10
1/Y + 1/Z = 1/10 – (1/X + 1/W) = 1/10 – 1/20 = 1/20
So second and third pipes can fill the tank in 20 minutes
4). e)Let the speed of the boat be X kmph and Speed of the stream be Y kmph
So we have 24/(X – Y) + 28/(X + Y) = 6
30/(X – Y) + 21/(X + Y) = 6.5
Let 1/(X – Y) = a, 1/(X + Y) = b
24a + 28b = 6; 30a + 21b = 6.5
Solving these equations a = 1/6; b = 1/14
X – Y = 6 and X + Y = 14 => Y = 4 kmph
5). b)Let the ages of Ankur, his brother, and Uncle be A, B, U.
A = 3B, U = 3A or U = 9B
3 years from now, U + 3 = 5(B + 3) => 9B + 3 = 5B + 15 => 4B = 12 => B = 3
So current ages are 3, 9, 27
Sum 10 years from mow = (3 + 9 + 27) + 10 x 3 = 69
(6 – 10):

Directions (Q. 11-15)
11). b)It should be “equipped not only with” instead of “not only equipped with”.
12). a)Here, as we are comparing two methods for a single purpose, the sentence should start as ____ ‘No other method’.
13). c)Views should always be followed by ‘on’ instead of ‘for’.
14). c)Delete ‘I’.

15). d)It should be ‘has been’ instead of ‘have been’.
