b)    Ophthalmologist
c)    Radiologist
d)    Oncologist
3).On which of the following days do the specialists in Orthopedic and Ophthalmologist visit?
a)    Wednesday
b)    Friday

a)    Wednesday
b)    Friday
c)    Tuesday
d)    Saturday
5).Who among the following visits the polyclinic along with P?
a)    V
b)    S
c)    T
d)    Q
·         7 Persons – P, Q, R, S, T, U and V
·         7 Professions – ENT, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Neurologists, Ophthalmologist, Radiologist and Oncologist
·         4 days – Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
·         or (not more than 2) doctors visit the clinic on these 4 days
These types of questions can be best solved by the tabulation method
·         If persons / days are mentioned in the question then the first column of the table will always be persons/days
·         Here both persons and days are given therefore persons comes 1st followed by days
·         Here there are 7 persons, then the 1st column will be persons
·         2nd column will be days and the 3rd column will be medical field
Radiologist

CLUE 1: S visits on Friday with Radiologist
·         It shows that the Radiologist visits on Friday
·         S is not Radiologist
·         Maximum 2 doctors visit the clinic on each of the given days
·         Therefore only 3 days are remaining
CLUE 2: Oncologist U visits alone on Tuesday
·         So no other doctors visit on Tuesday
·         Now only Wednesday and Saturday are remaining
·         Tuesday – U – Oncologist
Radiologist
Oncologist

CLUE 3: Q visits on Wednesday and he is not Pediatrician
Pediatrician
Radiologist
Oncologist

CLUE 4: R visits on Wednesday
Pediatrician
Radiologist
Oncologist

CLUE 5: Neurologist visits on Friday
·         From the clue 1, it is clear that the S and Radiologist visit on Friday
·         Not more than 2 doctors visit on a single day
·         Therefore, S is the Neurologist
Pediatrician
Radiologist
Neurologist
Oncologist

CLUE 6: Pediatrician neither visit on Saturday and nor with T and V
·         We know that Pediatrician does not visit on Friday, Tuesday and Saturday
·         Therefore Pediatrician visits on Wednesday
·         Doctors Q and R visits on Wednesday and we also know that Q is not a Pediatrician
·         Therefore, R – Pediatrician
Pediatrician
Neurologist
Oncologist

CLUE 7: Pediatrician visits with ENT specialist
·         Therefore, Q is the ENT specialist who visits on Wednesday
Pediatrician
Neurologist
Oncologist

CLUE 8: V is not Radiologist
·         So, V will not visit on Friday
·         The only remaining day is Saturday
·         Therefore, V visits the clinic on Saturday
Pediatrician
Neurologist
Oncologist
Radiologist

CLUE 9: P is neither Orthopedics nor Radiologist
·         P is not Radiologist.
·         So he will visit the clinic on Saturday
·         This leaves T to be the Radiologist who visits the clinic on Friday along with S
·         Now P is not Orthopedics.
·         Therefore, P is the Ophthalmologist and V is Orthopedics

Ophthalmologist
Pediatrician
Neurologist
Radiologist
Oncologist
Orthopedics
The above is the final schedule of the doctors
QUESTION 1:
From the final table, d).Neurologist
QUESTION 2:  b). Ophthalmologist
QUESTION 3:  c). Saturday
QUESTION 4:  b). Friday
