Railway Board Chairman A K Mittal gets 2-year extension
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the re-appointment of A K Mittal as Chairman Railway Board (with effect from August 1, 2016) for a period of two years.
Mittal is a 1976-batch officer of Indian Railway Stores Service.

The European Union appoints chief Brexit Negotiator
The European Commission appoints has appointed Michel Barnier, as its Chief Negotiator for the United Kingdom’s exit from the bloc. He will take up his post on October 1.
Barnier is former French Financial Services Commissioner.
Earlier, he has served as Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries in French government.
He had the reforms in the banking union, financial sector and digital single market in the EU.
