संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद् में दो साल का कार्यकाल साझा करेंगे इटली और नीदरलैंड
ब्रिक्जिट के बाद यूरोपीय संघ में एकता का संदेश देते हुए इटली और नीदरलैंड ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद में अस्थाई सीट के दो वर्षीय कार्यकाल को आपस में साझा करने का फैसला लिया है।
मतदान के पहले दौर में नीदरलैंड को 99 वोट मिले जबकि इटली को 92 मत मिले। पांचवे दौर के मतदान के बाद दोनों देशों में टाई हो गया और उन्हें 95-95 मत मिले। हालांकि यह अनिवार्य 127 मतों से बहुत कम था।
Italy, the Netherlands to share 2-yr term on UNSC
Sending a message of unity post-Brexit, Italy and the Netherlands have agreed to share a two-year term on the UN Security Council for a non-permanent seat after five rounds of balloting failed to break a deadlock in the General Assembly.
In the first round of voting, the Netherlands had got 99 votes while Italy got 92. After the fifth round of voting, the two countries were tied, having garnered 95 votes each, less than the 127 required majority.
अमूल रियो ओलम्पिक के लिए भारतीय दल को प्रायोजित करेगा
प्रमुख डेयरी कंपनी अमूल ने रियो :ब्राजील: 2016 के ओलम्पिक खेलों में भारतीय दल को प्रायोजित करने की घोषणा की है। ये खेल अगस्त में होने वाला है।
गुजरात सहकारिता दुग्ध विपणन महासंघ :जीसीएमएमएफ: अमूल ब्रांड के तहत अपने उत्पादों की बिक्री करती है। जीसीएमएमएफ प्रायोजित करने के लिए भारतीय ओलम्पिक संघ :आईओए: को एक करोड़ रपये का भुगतान करेगी।
वर्ष 2016 के ओलम्पिक गेम्स के लिए भारतीय दल को आधिकारिक रूप से प्रायोजित करने के समझौते पर आईओए के महासचिव राजीव मेहता और जीसीएमएमएफ के महाप्रबंधक आर एस सोढ़ी ने हस्ताक्षर किये।
Amul offers sponsorship to IOA for Rio Olympics 2016
Dairy major Amul announced to sponsor the Indian contingent for Rio 2016 Olympic Games, to be held in August.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells its product under the brand Amul, will pay Rs 1 crore to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the sponsorship.
The agreement for the official sponsorship of the Indian contingent in 2016 Olympic games, was signed by IOA Secretary General Rajeev Mehta and GCMMF Managing Director R S Sodhi.

देश में विकसित भारी वजन वाले टारपीडो 'वरुणास्त्र' को भारतीय नौसेना में शामिल किया गया। इस साल गणतंत्र दिवस परेड के दौरान वरुणास्त्र को पहली बार राजपथ पर प्रदर्शित किया गया था।
रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) की नौसेना एवं प्रौद्योगिकी प्रयोगशाला ने पनडुब्बी रोधी टारपीडो का विकास भारतीय नौसेना के लिए किया है।
'वरुणास्त्र' का वजन 1.25 टन है और यह 250 किलोग्राम विस्फोटक 40 समुद्री मील प्रति घंटे की गति से ले जाने में सक्षम है।

Indigenously developed heavyweight torpedo Varunastra, which was showcased for the first time on the Republic Day Parade at Rajpath this year, was inducted in the Indian Navy.
The anti-submarine torpedo has been developed by Naval Science and Technological Laboratory of the DRDO for the Indian Navy.
Weighing around 1.25 tonnes, the torpedo carries about 250 kg of explosives at a speed of around 40 nautical miles an hour.
