कानपुर में भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान(आईआईटी) के एयरोस्पेस इंजीनियरिंग विभाग में प्राध्यापक प्रोफेसर संजय मित्तल को यंत्र विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में उनके महत्वपूर्ण योगदान के लिए घनश्यामदास बिड़ला (जी. डी. बिरला) पुरस्कार, 2015 प्रदान किया जाएगा।

सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की जीवन बीमा कंपनी एलआईसी के चेयरमैन एस के राय ने पांच साल का कार्यकाल पूरा होने से करीब दो साल पहले इस्तीफा दे दिया। उनकी नियुक्ति पूर्व संप्रग सरकार ने की थी।
रॉय 1981 से एलआईसी से जुड़े थे और उन्होंने जून 2013 में चेयरमैन का पदभार संभाला था।
LIC chairman S K Roy resigns prematurely
State-run life insurance behemoth LIC chairman S K Roy, appointed by the previous UPA government, has resigned nearly two years ahead of completion of his five-year term.
Roy, who has been with LIC since 1981, took charge as chairman in June 2013.

माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने कपड़ा विनिर्माण क्षेत्र में अतिरिक्त रोजगार सृजित करने के लिए टैक्स और उत्पादन संबंधी प्रोत्साहनों को मंजूरी दी है। यह वस्त्र और परिधान क्षेत्र में रोजगार सृजन तथा निर्यात को बढ़ावा देने के लिए सरकार द्वारा घोषित विशेष पैकेज में शामिल विभिन्न उपायों में से एक है।
Cabinet approves special package for employment generation and promotion of exports in Textile and Apparel sector
The Union Cabinet under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given approval for a special package for employment generation and promotion of exports in Textile and Apparel sector.
The move comes in the backdrop of the package of reforms announced by the Government for generation of one crore jobs in the textile and apparel industry over next 3 years.
