2.Spoof (v) : Imitate (something) while exaggerating its characteristic features for comic effect.
Synonyms : Parody, Burlesque, Pastiche
Use : The students spoofed the teachers.
3.Bridle (n) : The act of restraining power or action or limiting excess

4.Cantankerous (adj) : Bad-tempered, argumentative, and uncooperative.

9.Obliquely (adverb): Not in a direct way

Use : An ironic remark often conveys an intended meaning obliquely
