What is the education qualification needed for applying in SSC CGL 2016?

Dear Readers,

As you all must have read that there are 30 posts for which you all can apply in this year SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam, but to apply for the posts you all need to have some minimum educational qualification. 

So here we are providing you the details of educational qualification for SSC CGL 2016 which will help you to analyze for which posts you can apply based on the education qualification as on 1st August 2016  

Note: The essential qualification needed for applying in SSC CGL 2016 as on 1st August, 2016.

i) For post of Assistant Audit Officer:

a) Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute

b) Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

ii) For post of Statistical Investigator Grade-II:

a) Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level:

OR

b) Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

iii) For the post of Compiler:

Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.

For all other posts except for i, ii, iii: 

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Note: For posts of Assistant Section Officer (CSS), Computer Proficiency Test has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification.

What is CPT?

a) The Commission will hold Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), comprising of three modules- Word Processing, Spread Sheet and Generation of Slides, for applicants for the post of Assistant Section Officer of CSS. 

b) It will be conducted in the manner decided by the Commission for the purpose. 

c) It will be of qualifying nature.
