India and France signed 16 agreements

India and France today signed 16 back-to-back multisectoral agreements during the India-France Business Summit at Chandigarh. These agreements were signed in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollande. The summit, which kickstarted Hollande's three-day India visit, brought together 25 corporate honchos from both countries. Both leaders promised to foster ties and tackle terrorism. Here are the complete list of agreements signed between India and France.

List of 16 Agreements signed between India & France

  1. Agreement between CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) and Green Ventures in solar photovoltaic projects in the rural areas (Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh).
  2. Agreement between CEA and Crompton Greaves to explore opportunities in solar photovoltaic system with storage function for Indian airports.
  3. Mahindra-Airbus cooperation to create the new private strategic partner for helicopters within the Make in India initiative.
  4. MoU between AFD (French Development Agency) and the government of Maharashtra on technical cooperation in the field of sustainable urban development for development of smart city in Nagpur.
  5. MoU between AFD and the government of the union territory (UT) of Chandigarh on technical cooperation in the field of sustainable urban development for development of smart city in Chandigarh.
  6. MoU between AFD and the government of the UT of Puducherry on technical cooperation in the field of sustainable development for development of smart city in Puducherry.
  7. MoU between EPI Ltd.-Dassault Systems in urban sector development.
  8. MoU between EPI-Alstom in urban sector development.
  9. MoU between EPI-EDF in urban sector development.
  10. MoU between EPI-Egis in urban sector development.
  11. MoU between EPI-Lumiplan ITS India Pvt. Ltd. in urban sector development.
  12. MoU between EPI-POMA in urban sector development.
  13. MoU between EPI-SA CAN in urban sector development.
  14. MoU between EPI-Schneider Electric in urban sector development.
  15. MoU between EPI-Thales in urban sector development.
  16. Wind Power Development agreement between EDF JV with SITAC RE India to jointly explore opportunities for development of wind-based power project in India.
