- Impropriety - dishonest behaviour
- Throes - experiencing something that is difficult, unpleasant, or painful
- Crisis - a time of great confusion / suffering
- Proclamation - the official announcement of an important matter
- Discern - to find out (recognize)
- Discredited - loss of respect in someone / something
- Dissidence - protest against official policy / government
- Likelihood - the chance that something will happen
- Intervening - take part in something to change the result
- Partisan - a strong supporter of a party
- Determining - to decide what will happen
- Spectacle - an unexpected situation that attracts attention, interest, or disapproval
- Overshadowing - appear more important than something
- Floor test - a test to prove majority (by head-count) on the floor of the House (Parliament) for a crucial decision
- Interim - temporary
- Impasse - a situation in which no progress is possible
- Elapsed - passed
- Manipulate - handle or control in a skilful manner
- Legislature - the group of people in a country who have the power to make and change laws
- Precipitated - to make something happen suddenly / unexpectedly
- Makeshift - temporary
- Justified - having a good reason for something
- Advancing - move forwards in a purposeful way
- Discretion - the power or right to decide or act according to one's own judgment
- Stalling - stopping
- Rooted - establish deeply and strongly
- Functionaries - people who has to perform official functions or duties (officials)

- Consolidating - to make something stronger
- Understated - presented in an effective way
- Wrapped up - to complete something / to bring something to an end
- Devoid - the lack of something (which is necessary)
- Strategic - used to provide military forces with an advantage
- Counterterrorism - political or military activities designed to prevent terrorism
- Threats - dangers
- Recrimination - arguments between people who are blaming each other
- Consistent - always behaving in a similar and positive way
- Collaborated - work jointly on an activity or project
- Bilateral trade - the exchange of goods between two countries
- Hover - to stay at a particular level
- Impasse - a situation in which no progress is possible
- Hanging fire - unexpected delay
- Vulnerable - able to be easily influenced or attacked
- Envisage - to imagine or expect something in the future (especially something good)
- Engage - to become involved
- Reform - make changes in something in order to improve it
- To aid - help / support
