- Mounting - Organising and supporting.
- Petty - Ungenerous ( Not willing to give much money to people)
- Miscreants - Someone who has done something illegal or behaved badly.
- Aggrandisement - Expansion of power, wealth, rank, honour.
- Intent - Eager and determined.
- Mileage - (Here) Advantage.
- Ply - To carry on / To apply.
- Panic - Sudden fear.
- Rumour-mongering - People who are spreading rumours.
- Looting - Stealing / Anything taken by dishonesty.
- Deployment - To arrange in a position of readiness.
- Personnel - Group of people who work for it.

- Posh - Luxurious / Upper class.

- Appeals - Request for aid or support.
- Stillness - Quiet / The absence of motion.
- Confronting - Meet facing.

- Conciliatory - Approach in a compatible way in order to win or gain.
- Avert - Prevent.
- Deadlock - A state in which progress is impossible.
- Reverted - Return / Go back.
- Goodwill - Friendly attitude / Kindness.

- Interrogate - Examine by questions.
- Adjournments - Temporary postpone of some events.
- Disclosure - Act of giving new information.
- Prevalence - Condition of being widespread.
- Discrimination - Practice of treating one group of people less fairly than other groups.
- Inrimidatory - Forcing someone to do something by inducing fear.
- Cast doubts - To cause people to be unsure about it.
- Veracity - Truthfulness.
- Posed - Asked.
- Regretted - Feeling sad for their own action.
- Simmers - Eventually builds up to a specific point.
- Disquiet - Lack of calm or peace.
- Resonance - Special meaning / Particularly important.
- Integral part - Essential part.
- Plank - Main principle on which it bases its policy.
- Immense - Huge / Very great.
- Privilege - Special right or advantage.
- Overhang - Spread throughout / Extend.
- Oppressive - Burdensome.
- Hierarchies - Any system of person or things ranked one above another.
