Data Communication is the exchange between two devices using some form of transmission media. Data is transferred from one place to another in the form of signals. It includes the transfer of data or information and the method of preservation of data during the transfer process. This transmission of data is done between a centralizes computer and remote terminals or between two or more computer centres over established communication.

There are three types of signals
(i) Digital Signal
(ii) Analog Signal
(iii) Hybrid Signal
Transmission of Data can be done many ways but mainly are of three types
(i) Simplex Channel
(ii) Half Duplex Channel
(iii) Full Duplex Channel
