• Govt. of India announced assistance of Rs.6794 Crore to three drought hit States i.e. Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, 7 more State Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh declared as drought hit States in the year 2015.

• The book titled as ‘Kargil: Turning the Tide’ written by Lieutenant General Mohinder Puri, released on 29th December 2015. The book provides accounts from the war held between India and Pakistan in the year 1999 known as ‘Kargil War’.

• Govt. of India launched the ‘National Biotechnology Development Strategy 2015-2020’ on 30th December 2015 with the aim to make India as a world class bio-manufacturing hub.

BHEL commissioned Prayagraj Power Project Unit in UP

• Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) commissioned Prayagraj Power Project Unit of 660 MW in Uttar Pradesh on 30th December 2015. It became 1st supercritical thermal unit to be commissioned in the State.

Russia signed an agreement with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)

• Russia signed an agreement with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on 29th December 2015 with the aim to build 200 Kamov 226T Helicopter under the guidelines of ‘Make in India’.

Reliance Jio launched 4G telecom service

• Reliance Jio launched 4G telecom service on 28th December 2015 by using Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. The service launched on the eve of 83rd birth anniversary of Dhirubhai Ambani.
