Andhra Bank has appointed Suresh N. Patel as its new managing director and chief executive (MD & CEO). As a graduate in science and law, he started his career in banking as an agricultural officer in Dena Bank in 1981. He is also a certified member of Indian Institute of Bankers. Prior to the new appointment, Patel was working as the executive director at the Oriental Bank of Commerce.
Andhra Bank posts fell vacant in April this year after it's chairman and managing director CV R Rajendran retired from the service (He is now the chief executive of Association of Mutual Funds in India). Executive director S K Kalra was holding the additional charge as CEO and managing director since then.
