IBPS Specialist Officer notification is out and there are many doubts/queries coming in the mind of aspiring candidates. We have given below a list of frequently asked questions and their answers. It will help you clear all your doubts regarding the notification.
1. What are the posts available under this recruitment project?
The posts which will be available in this recruitment project are I.T. Officer (Scale-I), Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I), Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I), Law Officer (Scale I), HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I), Marketing Officer (Scale I).
2. When will be the exam conducted?
The Tentative dates for Preliminary Exams are –
  • 30.01.2016
  • 31.01.2016
3. When will the result be declared?
Tentative Date for declaration of Results is February 2016.

4. Which Banks will participate in this recruitment Process?


5. How many vacancies will be there?
It is not fixed and will depend on the vacancies created by each participating bank at the time of recruitment.
6. Will there be a common interview after the written result?
Yes. There will be common interview. The tentative month for the Common Interview is March 2016.
7. Will the exam conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
Common Written Exam for IBPS will be conducted online.
8. What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?
Age Criteria As on 01.11.2015:
Minimum: 20 years 
Maximum: 30 years 
A candidate must have been born on or after 02.11.1985 and on or before 01.11.1995
9. What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?
The Educational Qualification is different for each post. Below is the details mentioned.
  • I.T. Officer (Scale-I) - a) 4 year Engineering/ Technology Degree in Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology/ Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunications/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation OR b) Post Graduate Degree in Electronics/ Electronics & Tele Communication/Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications OR Graduate having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level.
  • Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I) - 4 year Degree (graduation) in Agriculture/ Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Science/ Dairy Science/ Agri. Engineering/ Fishery Science/ Pisciculture/ Agri Marketing & Cooperation/ Co-operation & Banking/ AgroForestry.
  • Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I) - Post Graduate Degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree (graduation) level OR Post graduate degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at the degree (graduation) level.
  • Law Officer (Scale I) - A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) and enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council
  • HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I) - Graduate and Full time Post Graduate degree or Full time Post Graduate diploma in Personnel Management / Industrial Relations/ HR/HRD/ Social Work /Labour Law.
  • Marketing Officer (Scale I) - Graduate and Full time MMS (Marketing) / MBA (Marketing) / Full time 2 years PGDBA /PGDBM with specialization in Marketing.

10. I have given exams of my final year graduation but result has not yet been declared. Can I apply?
No. You can not apply. If the result is out on or before 10.12.2015 , only then you can apply.
11. What is the application Fee?
Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates. 
Rs. 600 /- for all others 
12. What will be validity of the score issued by IBPS in this recruitment process? 
The validity for CWE SO will automatically expire at the close of business on 31.03.2017 with or without giving any notice. 
13. When will the registration start?
Registration will start from 23-11-2015
14. I have scored 55% in Graduation. Am I eligible to sit for the exam?
Yes, you can apply as there is no percentage criterion. You just need to be a graduate.
15. I am 19 years old. Can I sit for the exam?
No. You have to wait another year in order to appear for the exam. You must be at least 20 years of age and not more than 30 years of age as on as on 01.07.2015.
16. I have given exams of my final year graduation but result has not yet been declared. Can I apply?
No. You can not apply. If the result is out on or before 10.12.2015, only then you can apply.
17. How to calculate the Percentage?
The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional / additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only.
The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

What is the cut-off for being recruited?
There is no fixed cutoff for IBPS SO exam. It depends on the performance of the candidates each year. Your final score is calculated based on your performance in the written test and the interview.
Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
Yes, there is a sectional cut-off in the exam. You have to clear every section in order to secure a seat for the Interview.
I have cleared the overall cutoff of the exam. However, I could not clear the cutoff for the particular section section. Am I still eligible?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible to move to the next stage. You must clear the cutoff for each section individually and the overall cutoff as well.
Is there a criterion for negative marking?
There is negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer.
