Hello Friends,
The Indian Air Force is celebrating its 83rd Air Force Day with a large parade and air display at the Hindon air base near Delhi today. The event began with a fly past of three Mi-17 V5 helicopters with ensign of the Air Force in a "vic" or V-shaped formation at the air base in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. If you haven't seen the show then you must watch it on youtube because it was really spectacular and fantastic.

We are summarizing the whole event with some pictures so that you can feel the power of Indian Air Force. Don't you feel the adrenaline rush within yourself whenever you see the aircrafts performing? It is always thrilling to see such performances and no matter how many times you watch the same. Sachin Tendulkar with all the three Chiefs Of Defence enjoyed the air show at Hindon base.
Lets start with C-130J Aircraft
The Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. The Hercules family has the longest continuous production run of any military aircraft in history. During more than 50 years of service, the family has participated in military, civilian, and humanitarian aid operations.
Next Came C-17 Globemaster III accompanied by two Su-30 Aircraft
The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is a large military transport aircraft. It was developed for the United States Air Force (USAF) from the 1980s to the early 1990s by McDonnell Douglas. The C-17 commonly performs strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world; additional roles include tactical airlift, medical evacuation and airdrop duties.
After that Jaguar took over the responsibility
The SEPECAT Jaguar is an Anglo-French jet attack aircraft, originally used by the British Royal Air Force and the French Armée de l'Air in the close air support and nuclear strike role, and still in service with the Indian Air Force. Originally conceived in the 1960s as a jet trainer with a light ground attack capability, the requirement for the aircraft soon changed to include supersonic performance, reconnaissance and tactical nuclear strike roles.
Next came Mig-21 Bison
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 is a supersonic jet fighter aircraft, designed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. Early versions are considered second-generation jet fighters, while later versions are considered to be third-generation jet fighters. Approximately 60 countries over four continents have flown the MiG-21, and it still serves many nations a half-century after its maiden flight.
Vintage aircraft Harvard and Tiger Moth also proved that Old is Gold
It might sound simple but getting these birds off the ground again was a gigantic task considering that it hadn't been attempted in the country earlier. Coming just after the first formal vintage flying wing in the IAF came into existence, the move marked the end of such flights. Most of these aircraft were single-engined.
Next came the Surya Kiran
Surya Kiran ("Sun Rays") is an aerobatics demonstration team of the Indian Air Force. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) was formed in 1996 to serve as the "Ambassadors of the Indian Air Force" and to "showcase the professionalism, the caliber and the mettle of the Indian Air Force". The team has since performed numerous demonstrations in various parts of the country and abroad, and was amongst the renowned nine-aircraft public display aerobatic teams in the world.
SARANG added to the beauty of the performances
Sarang is the helicopter display team of the Indian Air Force. The team flies four modified HAL Dhruv helicopters, also known as ALH (Advanced Light Helicopter). The team was formed in October 2003 and their first public performance was at the Asian Aerospace Show, Singapore, 2004. The name Sarang (Peacock in Sanskrit) is symbolic as it is the national bird of India.
And the show stopper was the SU-30 MKI
The Sukhoi Su-30 MKI is a twin jet Multi role Air superiority fighter developed by Russia's Sukhoi and built under licence by India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Indian Air Force (IAF). A variant of the Sukhoi Su-30, it is a heavy, all-weather, long-range fighter.
