Being a reader of BA, I want to share my interview experience for IDBI Manipal 2015 with bankers adda. I hope this will help everyone.
Personal Interview experience in IDBI Manipal Programme
Place - New Delhi
Time - 8.30 am
Document verification went smoothly and they allowed besides the fact i was not having the 12th class pass certificate and it does not matters a lot if you have the marksheet.
But one thing you should take care of the 10th class pass certificate for sure
Interview started at around 10 am. My turn came at around 10.45 am .
There were 4 members in the interview panel.
3 Male - Senior Officials and 1 HR - Young Lady.
I entered the room, and wished everyone Good Morning..They offered me seat.
M1 - "Be happy". they said it because I was not looking good as the outside waiting corridor was so hot as there was no centralised A.C. inside the interview centre.
Me - Sir, My name is "Happy" only.
M1 and all - oh.. so your nick name and home name is Happy.. everybody started smiling and laughing including myself, so it started with a "Happy" note..
M1 - ok, So tell me about yourself and family background.
Me - I told everything starting from hometown, place of living, educational qualifications and then work expereince. Told about my family and what they are doing right now (profession etc.)
M1 - you didnt tell about your father's profession, what is he doing right now.
Me - I told everyhting about him starting from the past history and present.
M1 - Dont you think, you are overqualified for this job?
Me - No Sir. I think i have gain a lot of experience from educational qualification and work into the corporate affairs that I am ready now to work and do something for my interest which is bla bla bla.. And I kept talking about my work expereince and exepriences of life towards it to justify and validate my point of interest.
M1 - oh. you are telling all these and everything as an answer to my question or by yourself. means i didnt ask all these from you.
M2 - Before i cpuld say anything, M2 said that he is validating his points and experiences for his interest. and everyone were happy for that and said Good.
M1 - 14th Finance commission Head?
Me - I knew the answer but it just skipped my mind and i said its not striking my mind right now. (YV Reddy)
M1 - Its ok, no problem, tell me who is present finance secretary as there has been some news realted to all these recently.
Me - I told ya , Rajiv Mehrishi was there and he got transfered as Home Secretary and some other 3 transfers and interchanges with that recently in news. and at the end told RP Watal as these 4 interchanges and transfers created confusion....
M1 - Ya. He was talking to his adjacent M2, you know what there were 4 transfers in a single day , so little bit confusing.
M1 - Minister of State in finance ministry.
Me - Jayant Sinha.
M2 - Started asking about my past company, work experience, work locations, something about technologies related to IT as I have worked in IT company.
Me - Answered everyhting point to point and precisely.
M2 and all - They really appreciated me as I have managed hard between my office hours 24*7 shift and studies to come here in front of them.
It was again a joyous moment..
M2 - Narrow Banking.
Me - I didnt remmeber that exacly so didnt give the answer properly.
M2 - Banking and bank.
Me - Answered everything in details.
M2 - Payment gateways?
Me - Again answered everything in details.
M2 - Payment Banks and why these banks coming into picture if already Banks are there.
Me - Answered everyhting in details giving and putting idea of Financial imclusion, mobile banking and e-banking in rural areas and villages where normal banks have in general less presence.
They were satisfied with all these counter questions.
M3 - Alternate channels.
Me - It was a silly question and i could have answered that but said i dont know straight away. Its good to say right away if you dont know anything properly, no need to make picture of wrong answers by making them go around and around. It might create a bad impression.
F1 - She gave some scenario as you will be given a different different types of work to fit yourself into the culture of bank whether its a teller or cashier besides being recruited as AM and have to meet, handle a wide range of customers as you have already have an experience in corporate world, but here it will be quiet different. How you will do that?
Me - Explained everyhting in detail based on my work experience and working at the client site for the past company, handling differnet clients.
She looked satisfied.
So everything went like this and at the end, they said Thanks , same said by me while leaving with a smile.
