NEW DELHI - Ahead of a massive kisan rally on Sunday, Congress Party vice-president Rahul Gandhi met with farmers from different states at his office in Delhi.
This meeting on Saturday morning was Gandhi's first public appearance since he returned from a 56-day sabbatical from politics, earlier this week.
At the meeting with farmers, Gandhi was accompanied by other senior Congress leaders including Jairam Ramesh, Sachin Pilot and Bhupendra Singh Hooda
The kisan rally at the Ram Lila Maidan on Sunday is to protest against the Modi government's Land Acquisition Bill which will make it easier to acquire land from farmers for key projects.
While Gandhi interacted with the farmers for about 20-25 minutes, he did not speak with the media.
