Haryana Environment and Forests Minister Abhimanyu today said that in order to control pollution in Delhi, only BS-4 cars would be registered in 11 districts of the state falling in the NCR area.
Speaking at a meeting of Environment and Forest Ministers of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh here today, he said Haryana would follow every suggestion of the Centre to control pollution.
He said Air Pollution Monitoring facility has been made available in Gurgaon, Faridabad and Rohtak and now this facility is being made available in Sonepat and Panipat.
"Strict rules would have to be followed to get PUC certificate so as to decrease the pollution from generating cars. Now, awareness campaign would be run to tell people not to burn the residue left after harvesting the fields," he said in a statement.
The Minister said in the next three months, the four states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh would take all necessary steps which would help in reducing the air pollution in the national capital.
Abhimanyu said that the construction work of KMP (Kundli-Manesar-Palwal) Expressway has started and after its completion there would be no pollution by cars in Delhi.
He said the meeting will be held again with Environment Ministers in the first or second week of July to review pollution control.
