Asia's largest tulip garden, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, in Srinagar, sees more than two million tulips bloom during spring season every year. The garden is spread over an area of about 12 hectares at the foothills of Zabarwan Range. The garden was first opened for tourists in 2008 and it remains open for over a month every spring. The average life span of the tulip flower is three to four weeks but heavy rains or too much heat can destroy these gorgeous flowers.
