LIC the Life Insurance Corporation of India, one of the most prestigious government organization which is excelling in the sector of banking and insurance. And with the exam season, LIC also has released the much-awaited notification for the post of  Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) and also recently released notification for the post of Apprentice Development Officer (ADO). With this, some of the students are confused between the two designations.

Both posts have their perks and work pressure. And shouldn't think that both the jobs are similar. Though it has some similarities with the allowances and benefits, but are completely different in the area of work and growth. AAO being is a Class I officer and this is an entry-level officer job in the Insurance Sector is much preferred and has a higher salary than ADO. As an ADO is primarily a Sales Supervision Job.

JOB PROFILE
AAO is the Assistant Administrative Officer of Life Insurance Corporation of India. A person Joining as AAO is a Class I officer and this is an entry-level officer job in the Insurance Sector.
ADO is the Apprentice Development Officer of Life Insurance Corporation of India.
SALARY
As the official notification, the basic pay of Rs. 32795/- per month in the scale of Rs. 32795-1610(14) –55335– 1745(4) –62315 and other admissible allowances as per rules. Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale, inclusive of House Rent Allowance & City Compensatory Allowance wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city and will be approximately Rs 56,000/- per month in ‘A’ Class city.
During the apprentice period, the candidate selected as Apprentice Development Officer will be paid a fixed amount as stipend per month.  At present the amount of stipend is about Rs.34,503/-.
On appointment as a Probationary Development Officer, basic pay of Rs. 21,865/- per month (except for Employee Category candidates) in the scale of 21865-1340(2)-24545-1580(2)-27705-1610(17)- 55075 and other admissible allowances as per rules shall be payable.  Gross approx. Salary is Rs 37,345/- in ‘A’ Class City.

Other benefits are Defined Contributory
Pension, Special Allowance for passing Actuarial Examination, Gratuity, LTC, Cash Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance, Vehicle Loan (2-wheeler/4 wheeler) as per rules, meal coupon, reimbursement towards the cost of Briefcase/leather bags, mobile handset, the supply of dailies and magazines and tea/coffee, mobile expenses, etc. as per rules.
