We Grow Through What We Go Through | Au Revoir 2018

December 31, 2018

The year 2018 is on the brink of its end with the new year 2019 around the corner. This day, the 31st of December is, as usual, the last day of the year and the curtain finally falls on the year 2018 as the clock strikes midnight. This is probably the day when most of us reckon on the things that happened throughout the whole year, most of them being about our personal growth, career, studies, health & fitness and our relationships with others. All of us went through different experiences, some good and some bad, that taught us salutary lessons of life. What matters at the end of the day is the fact that they all played a part in catapulting us to a better world we live in today.

A better world. What are the parameters of a better world? A world full of luxuries, opulence, and magnificence or a world in which it is all laid out in a way we want it to be? If we dive deep into its gist, we find that none of the two defines it though they, indeed, are facets of it. A better world is simply the one in which it's easier for us to take on life challenges with poise, stay clear of things that pose some sort of threat to our mental or physical well being, and make better and smart life choices. It is a place we arrive at after having gone through the crucial life experiences that help us borne ourselves out as a better person. Now, the next question that strikes our mind is, "What defines a better person?". Stick around, this is what we are going to discuss next.

Every year, we get to deal with situations we have never faced before, do things that we could have never imagined we would ever do, and accept things that are hard to take on ourselves. But our existence is indicative of the fact that we survived through all the wretchedness and that we can keep our body and soul to withstand all such trials and tribulations.  We have all been in a tight spot at some point in this year which only helped us grow into a person that we are now, a better person, not for the world, not for those around us but ourselves.

So students, the upcoming year, too, has in it, a lot of surprises stashed for you. A lot more is there that is yet to be unfolded. Many new stories are yet to be written. You are the one who holds the pen, just be wise and smart enough to pen them down as beautifully as you can. All the best!
