SSC GD Constable 2018 Notification 2018 has been released on 21st July 2018 on the official website by the Commission. With the release of the notification, Online Applying process for SSC GD 2018 has started from today (17th August 2018). Candidates will be distributed to multiple posts as Constables in BSF, CISF, CRPF etc. according to their eligibility once they crack the exam successfully. SSC GD Constable 2018 will be conducted to recruit eligible candidates to the post of General Duty.

The recruitment process will consist of Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Medical Examination. The date of examination is not mentioned in the official notification and is to be notified later.

 What are the posts available under this recruitment project for freshers?
The posts which are available in this recruitment project are:-
  • Constables (General Duty) in BSF,CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, NIA, SSF 
  • Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles (AR)
  When will be the exam conducted?
The date of examination is not mentioned in the official notification it is to be notified later.

 How many vacancies are there?
The total number of vacancies are 54953 vacancies, which are to be filled through SSC GD 2018 Exam.

 Will the exam be conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
The recruitment process will include a Computer Based online examination (CBE).

 What is the Structure of Examination, the recruitment process?
The structure of the recruitment process will consist of four phases as follows:

1. Computer Based Examination (CBE) 

The Computer-Based Exam will be of 100 marks. 
The time of 90 minutes will be given to the candidates. There will be four sections in the examinationGK , Reasoning , Mathematics and English/Hindi.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Based on the performance in CBE, candidates will be shortlisted for PET/PST by the commission.

Race 5 km in 24 minutes 1.6 km in 8(1/2) minutes

3. Physical Standard Test (PST)

Criteria for PST:

4. Medical Examination

Candidates will be shortlisted for Detailed Medical Examination (DME) from the candidates who qualify PET/PST.

The selected candidates will be medically examined by the Medical Boards constituted by the CAPFs to assess their physical and medical fitness as prescribed in the official notification.

Eye sight:

The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.


➡The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.


 What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?
  • Minimum Age: 18 years 
  • Maximum Age: 23 years
 The crucial date of age-limit will be calculated with reference to 01-08-2018.

 What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?
The candidates must have passed 10th class or equivalent from a recognized board.

 What is the application Fee?
  • Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/-
  • Last date for submission of applications:17th September 2018 (up to 5PM)
  • Fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net banking or through credit/ debit cards of any bank.
  • Candidates who wish to make the payment through challan of SBI, may make the payment to designated branches of SBI within the working hours of bank upto 20th September 2018.
