SSC CGL 2017 Examination has been a hot topic regarding cheating allegations and malpractices carried out in the conduct of its Tier-2 Batch 1 (Quantitative Aptitude Examination) on particular dates. And after a complaint lodged by Shri Sandeep Choudhary posted as an ASP, CBI, AC.1 New Delhi addressed to the Supdt. of Police on 21 May, 2018 with a substantial report, the truth is drawn out to give currency to the confirmation of cheating practices in the conduct of SSC CGL Tier-2 2017 Exam.
The complaint is against suspected Candidates appeared in SSC CGL 2017 Examination, respective employees of SIFY', Unknown Official/Officers of SSC and other unknown persons. Unveiling a compendium of the submitted report, following are some of the crucial and worth knowing highlights of the same which discloses the confirmation of cheating, accused candidates’ and site supervisors’ names, mode and means of malpractices, suspected activities held before and during the conduct of SSC CGL Tier-2 2017 Exam.
1. Based on the CBI Enquiry dated 8 March 2018 to check the probity of allegations of malpractices in the recruitment examinations conducted by SSC for CGL (Tier-ll) held from 17 Feb to 22 Feb 2018, it has been revealed that the exam started at 10.30 am and in order to conduct it, back-end team of SIFY which is responsible for online smooth conduct of exam without any involvement of dubious acts thus keeping an eagle eye on an aspirant’s illegal access to cheating sources, fulfilling the guidelines and requirement of SSC, at Chennai head quarter uploaded the question paper to central server in data centre at Mumbai between 9:30 am to 10:00 am. After 10:00 am the central helpdesk team communicated the Question Pack (OP) activation password to all the venues site supervisors. The site supervisors further communicated the password to examination controller and the venue specific QP got downloaded and activated using the web exam admin interface available on all exam servers.
2. The Screenshots of some of the questions of CGL Tier ll Exam 2017, were found available on social media. The Answer keys of the Quantitate Aptitude examination dated 21.02.2018 were also found on social media which was scheduled to be held at 10.30 am on the same day. Further enquiry reveals that screenshots belonged to the candidates whose name, roll number, exam date and exam venues are disclosed in the report. These screen shots also show the use of remote accessed software for solving the question papers.
3. Making it possible for accused candidates to solve the questions through allotted PCs in the respective allotted examination venues, incharged Site Supervisors of SIFY who were supposed to ensure security of exam procedures are also suspected to be an active accused for ignoring illegal access of candidates to remote suspicious software for solving question papers by means of outside help from unknown persons.
4. Enquiry pertaining to answer key dated 17.02.2018 found in Animate infotech, Tughlakabad examination centre reveals that the answers shown in this key got matched with the options of respective answers of CGL Tier ll examination 2017 dated 21.02.2018 and clarifies that the same answer key got viral on social media at 10.10 a.m. on 21.02.2018 before the scheduled time of exam i.e. 10.30 a.m.
5. The above culpable incidents draw this fact out that paper was got leaked before the scheduled time and Sh Sant Prasad Gupta being custodian of question papers and the fact of leakage of question papers reveals his involvement in the crime. Also the unknown officials of SSC who had to ensure the fair and smooth conduct of Examination but on the contrary, violated guidelines of SIFY as well as SSC are proposed to be in criminals list.
The above facts disclose commission of offences punishable under various sections against all the accused whether it being candidates, site supervisors, unknown officials or any other accomplice. Hence, a Regular case via this report dated 22.05.2018 is registered entrusted to Shri R. L. Yadav, Dy. S. P., CBl, AC. New Delhi, for investigation of the case thoroughly.
