International Current Affairs
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation for Abu Dhabi's first Hindu temple via video conferencing.
- Britain’s Prince Charles has launched a new 10-million-dollar Development Impact Bond (DIB) to help improve education for over 200,000 children in India.

- DIB is the latest fundraising initiative by British Asian Trust (BAT) set up by royal 10 years ago to fight poverty in South Asia.
- Note : It is the largest bond of its type in South Asia.
- The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development is going to establish National Women Entrepreneurship Council (NWEC).

- NWEC will promote entrepreneurship as it would be the umbrella organization for socio-economic gender parity, financial inclusion and economic empowerment of women in India.
- The Union Ministry of Power has launched a Web based monitoring System and Fly Ash mobile application titled ASH TRACK.

- It was launched by Minister of State (IC) for Power and New & Renewable Energy R.K Singh in New Delhi.
- ASH TRACK Mobile App will manage 200 million tonnes of fly ash by tracking coal based power plants situated within 100 km and 300 km from given location and availability of fly ash, along with prospective users within same radius.
- The Madhya Pradesh government today launched a mobile application titled 'Pollution Metre' to spread awareness against pollution in the western part of the state.
Banking, Business & Economic Affairs
- With a total wealth of $950 billion, India's financial capital Mumbai has been ranked as the 12th richest city globally by South Africa-based market research group New World Wealth.

- Mumbai also featured among the top 10 cities in terms of billionaire population with 28 billionaires.
- The list was topped by New York with $3 trillion wealth.
Science & Technology
- The Indian Navy has unveiled the Integrated Automatic Aviation Meteorological System (IAAMS) at INS Garuda, naval air station located in Kochi, Kerala.

- IAAMS is ambitious project of Indian Navy to modernise Meteorological infrastructure of 9 Naval Air Stations (NAS).
- It is expected to bring accuracy in weather monitoring mechanism in the Indian Navy.
Deaths
- Pakistan’s well known human right activist and senior lawyer Asma Jahangir (66) passwed away in Lahore today.

- She co-founded the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan in 1987 and became its Secretary General until 1993 when she was elevated as commission’s chairperson.
- She also became president of Supreme Court Bar Association.
- She was also co-chair of South Asians for Human Rights.
Books & Authors
- Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh released a book titled "Mere Sapno Ka Bharat'' in Parliament premises New Delhi.

- This book is about the best interviews of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee
- This book has been been compiled by Tarun Vijay, former BJP MP and Editor of Panchjanya, an RSS published journal.
New Appointments
- Abhilasha Kumari was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court.

- With this, she became first women and third full-time Chief Justice of Manipur High Court.
Awards & Honors
- Two Indian institutes featured in top 50 Asian institutes in TIMES Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for educational institutes in Asia.

- This list was topped by National University of Singapore.
- Indian princess Sophia Alexandra Duleep Singh was honoured by the Royal Mail of the UK, which marked the centenary of the suffragette movement with eight special stamps.

- Suffragettes were members of women's organisations in the late-19th and early-20th centuries which advocated the extension of the 'franchise' or the right to vote in public elections, to women.
Sports Current Affairs
- 17-year-old snowboarder Redmond Gerard won the 1st gold medal for the United States at this year's Winter Olympics, with his victory in the snowboarding slopestyle competition.
- Pune-based swimmer Rohan More (32) became the youngest in the world and first Asian to complete the Ocean Seven Challenge, which involves crossing seven of the world's toughest ocean channels covering a distance of around 200 km.
