According to media reports, out of 10,09,347 candidates who registered for the exam, 9.76 lakh appeared. The exam was held in 1634 exam centres across UP.
The board had released the answer key of the examination on October 18 and candidates were given time until October 23 to raise objections. The final answer keys were released subsequently after considering the objections by candidates.
Candidates for the post of teachers for Class 1 to Class 5 appeared in Paper I while those who wanted to become teachers for Class 6 to Class 8 appeared in Paper II of the exam. Those seeking eligibility as teachers for both Classes 1 to 5 and Classes 6 to 8 needed to appear for both the papers.
