Key & Solutions for the above DI Problems
1.
Let the number of total candidates = x No. of qualified candidates
= (60/100) x = (3/5) x
No. of female qualified candidates = (7/8) x (3/5) x = (7/30) x
Given (7/30) x = 126 => x = (126 x 30) / 7
=> x = 540
2.
No. of candidates appeared from State Q in 2006 = ix
And no. of candidates appeared from state Q in 2007 = 2x
No. of qualified candidates from state Q in 2006 = (30/100)x = (3/10) x
And no. of qualified candidates from State Q in 2007
= (45/100) x 2x = (9/10) x
Given (3x / 10) + (9x/10) = 408
=> x = (408 x 20) / 12 = 340
3.
Required difference
= (60/100) x 450 - (43 / 100) x 600
= 270 - 258 = 12
4.
No. of qualified candidates from state Q in 2008 = (60 / 100) x 280 = 168
No. of qualified candidates from state Q in 2009 = (50 / 100) x 550 = 275
No. of qualified candidates from state Q in 3 years = 210 x 3 = 630
So, no. of qualified candidates from state Q in 2010
= 630 - 168 - 275 = 187
5.
No. of qualified candidates from state P in 2009 / No. of qualified candidates from stae P in 2010 = 14 / 9
=> ((70/100) x 480)) / x = 14 / 9
= > x = (336 x 9) / 14 = 216
6.
No. of people who travelled by train B on Friday
= 200 + 200 x (20 / 100) = 240
And no. of people who travelled by train B on Saturday = 320
Then ratio = 240 / 320 = 3 / 4
= 3 : 4
7.
The total number of people who travelled by train B on Monday and Tuesday together = (200 + 170) = 370
And the no. of people who travelled by train A on Saturday and Sunday together
= (350 + 270) = 620
=> Difference = 620 - 370 = 250
8.
Average no. of people travelling by train A on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
= (240 + 210 + 140 + 230) / 4 = 820 / 4 = 205
9.
% of Decrease = ((350 - 210) / 350) x 100
=> (140 / 350) x 100 = 40%
10.
% increase = (((270 + 310) - (140 + 120)) / (140+120)) x 100
= ((580 - 260) / 260) X 100 => (320 / 260) x 100
This is approximately equals to 123%
