In a big achievement for India, miss India Manushi Chhillar (20), a medical student from Haryana, has won the coveted Miss World 2017 title in its 67th edition. Chillar competed against 108 contestants from various countries at a glittering event held at Sanya City Arena in China.

Winning the Miss World title has been Manushi’s childhood dream. "As a kid, I always wanted to participate in the competition but I never knew I would make it this far", she said.

Manushi, born to doctor parents, studied in St. Thomas School in Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat.

Mexico's Andrea Meza was titled as the first runner up and Stephanie Hill from England was adjudged second runner up.

Miss World 2016 winner Puerto Rico's Stephanie Del Valle passed on the coveted crown to the new titleholder Manushi. Chillar, who is from Haryana, had earlier this year won the Femina Miss India 2017.

Important Note : India has bagged the coveted title of Miss World after a long gap of 17 years. With this Manushi became only the 6th Indian to have won the crown.
