  • Diverse - very different from each other
  • Alliance - an arrangement between two or more people, groups, or countries by which they agree to work together to achieve something
  • Pivot - the most important thing that something is based on or depends on
  • Summit - a meeting or series of meetings between leaders of two or more countries
  • Comprehensive - including many details or aspects of something
  • Centre-stage - a position in which someone or something is attracting a lot of interest or attention
  • Sphere - an area of responsibility or a type of situation over which a person or group has influence or power
  • Strategic - carefully planned in order to achieve a particular goal, especially in war, business, or politics
  • Precede - to happen or exist before another person or thing
  • Quadrilateral - a four-sided figure
  • Mooted - to suggest something as a subject for discussion
  • Prosperous - rich and successful
  • Emphasis - special importance or attention that is given to one thing in particular
  • Quad - a group of four
  • Pertain to something - to be directly related to something
  • Maritime - involving ships or the business of moving people and goods in ships
  • Surveillance - the process of carefully watching a person or place that may be involved in a criminal activity
  • Enhancing - to improve something, or to make it more attractive or more valuable
  • In accordance with - following or obeying a rule, law, wish, etc
  • Prudent - careful, and using good judgment
  • Initiative - an important action that is intended to solve a problem
  • Exceptionally - in a way that is different from what happens in other cases or situations
  • Commemorative - done in order to honour and remember an important person or event
  • Festivity - a lively and enjoyable celebration
  • Juncture - a stage in a process or activity
  • Vital - very important, necessary, or essential
  • Despite - used for saying that something happens even though something else might have prevented it
  • Contrary -  completely different or opposed to something else
  • Coalition - a temporary union of different groups who agree to work together to achieve a shared aim
  • Tailwind - some condition or situation that will help move growth higher
  • Chaos - a situation in which everything is confused and in a mess
  • Contagion -  a situation in which feelings or ideas spread very quickly from one person or place to another
  • Negotiation - formal discussions in which people or groups try to reach an agreement, especially in a business or political situation
  • Conservative - not willing to accept much change, especially in the traditional values of society
  • Dictate - to influence or control how something is done
  • Stir - to cause trouble intentionally between other people, especially by telling false or secret information
  • Crisis -  an urgent, difficult, or dangerous situation
  • Allegation - a statement that someone has done something wrong or illegal even though this has not been proved
  • Accusations - a claim that someone has done something illegal or wrong
  • Enfant terrible - someone, especially a famous person, who tries to shock people or to make them feel embarrassed
  • Tenuous - weak and likely to change
  • Snap election - a general election (= an election in which every adult can vote for the people who will represent them in parliament) that is called earlier than expected
  • Wafer-thin - extremely thin
  • Mammoth - very large
  • Disruptive - causing difficulties that interrupt something or prevent it from continuing
  • Conciliatory - trying to end an argument and make people feel less angry
  • Consultation - discussion between people or groups before they make a decision
  • Autumn - the season of the year that comes between summer and winter
  • Consequently - as a result
  • Exacerbating - to make a problem become worse
  • Precarious - likely to change or become dangerous without warning
  • Eventuality - something that might happen, especially something bad that people might have to deal with
  • Cohesive - united and working together effectively
