1.Foster (verb) : लालन-पालन करना
Meaning: encourage the development of (something, especially something desirable), bring up (a child that is not one's own by birth).
Synonyms: encourage, promote, further, stimulate, advance, forward, cultivate, nurture, strengthen, enrich, help, aid, abet, assist, contribute to, support, endorse, champion, speak for, proselytize, sponsor, espouse, uphold, back, boost, give backing to, facilitate. 
Example: Nivedita made a series of diverse contributions to the national project: women’s education and empowerment, helping foster a sense of Indian nationalism, reviving some art forms, promoting science, propagating civic virtues and working on humanitarian relief during epidemics and famines. She was a true champion of India, its finest minds, its achievements and its culture.

2. Deprivation (noun) : हानि, क्षय, नुकसान
Meaning: the damaging lack of material benefits considered to be basic necessities in a society.
Synonyms: poverty, impoverishment, penury, privation, hardship, destitution, need, neediness, want, distress, financial distress, indigence, pauperdom, beggary, ruin.
Example: Noble came from a family of Wesleyan ministers. Her maternal grandfather was a respected member of the Irish national movement. Yet Noble’s early life was spent in considerable deprivation—she lost her father when she was only 10 years old, studying thereafter at a charitable boarding school in northern England. 

3.Obeisance (noun) : अलौकिक सम्मान, श्रद्धा
Meaning: deferential respect.
Synonyms: respect, homage, worship, adoration, reverence, veneration, respectfulness, honour, submission.
Example: She recounted later: “I had recognized the heroic fibre of the man, and desired to make myself the servant of his love for his own people. But it was his character to which I had thus done obeisance.”

4.Tapestry (noun) : कपड़ा जिसमे चित्र बने हो
Meaning: a piece of thick textile fabric with pictures or designs formed by weaving coloured weft threads or by embroidering on canvas, used as a wall hanging or soft furnishing.
Example: Nivedita noted that her mentor was fascinated with every phase of India’s long history, and with all the diverse elements that were interwoven in its tapestry. In The Master As I Saw Him, she wrote of her guru:

5.Gobble (verb) : शोर करके खाना
Meaning: eat (something) hurriedly and noisily.
Synonyms: eat greedily/hungrily, guzzle, bolt, gulp, swallow hurriedly, devour, wolf, cram, gorge (oneself) on, gorge oneself.
Example: Industries that profited from textile and clothing quotas, duty-free imports, tax holidays, free infrastructure, subsidised services and lax environmental and labour regulations still depend on imports of raw and semi-finished materials. This is a barrier to linkages in the local economy and gobbles up net foreign exchange earnings.

6.Prolific (adjective) : उर्वर
Meaning: (of a plant, animal, or person) producing much fruit or foliage or many offspring.
Synonyms: productive, creative, inventive, fertile.
Example: Nivedita was a prolific writer who published more than half a dozen books in her short lifetime, on themes of Indian history, Indian womanhood, education, nationhood, art and mythology. 

7.Savage (adjective) : जंगली, अनियंत्रित
Meaning: (of an animal or force of nature) fierce, violent, and uncontrolled.
Synonyms: ferocious, fierce.
Example: Each had their own explanation, each culture as convinced as the other of its existence. Here was a savage creature that roamed the high mountains, in the realm of ice and snow, always elusive but appearing just often enough to keep its legend alive.

8.Pique (verb) : मनमुटाव, अभिमान करना
Meaning: arouse (interest or curiosity).
Synonyms: stimulate, arouse, rouse, provoke, whet, awaken, spur, intrigue, galvanize 
Example: It piqued the curiosity of a child, which soon transformed into a fascination that Taylor passionately chased for the next 27 years. The account is now a part of his latest book, Yeti: The Ecology of a Mystery, published by the Oxford University Press a few months ago.

9.Verdant (adjective) : हरा भरा
Meaning: (of countryside) green with grass or other rich vegetation, of the bright green colour of lush grass.
Synonyms: green, leafy, grassy, grass-covered. 
Example: At the heart of the book is an account of Taylor’s deep affair with the wilderness that started right outside his home—the last bungalow on top of a hill in the verdant environs of Mussoorie.

10.Expedition (noun) : अभियान
Meaning: a journey undertaken by a group of people with a particular purpose, especially that of exploration, research, or war.
Synonyms: journey, voyage, tour, odyssey.
Example: Soon there were focused expeditions, which set out for the sole purpose of discovering a yeti such as the 1954 Daily Mail expedition. During this journey led by John Angelo Jackson, the members trekked from Everest to Kanchenjunga, photographing yeti evidence en route—from paintings in various villages to footprints in the snow.
