1). The series is 50 + 1^2 = 51, 51 – 2^2 = 47, 47 + 3^2 = 56, 56 – 4^2 = 40, 40 + 5^2 = 65, 65 – 6^2 = 29.
Hence, there should be 40 in place of 42.
