Directions (Q. 1-5): Study the following table and answer the questions given below. Performance of six Indian batsmen in IPL
[Note: Strike rate = (Total runs scored /Total balls faced) × 100]
1. What is the total run scored by MS Dhoni (in approx)?

Strike rate = (Total runs scored /Total balls faced) × 100
136.75 = (x /2604) × 100
x = (136.75 × 2604) /100 = 3560.97
∴ x = 3561
Answer: C

2.If the runs scored by RA Tripathi in the last three matches of the tournament are not considered, his runs scored in the tournament decreases by 180. What is the minimum possible run scored by Tripathi in the 14th match, if the runs scored in 12th and 13th matches are below 68 but more than 65? (note: no two scores among these scores are equal)

2).Total run scored = 392
Total runs (Exclude 3 matches) = 392 – 180 = 212
Let assume, 12th and 13th match scores are 66 and 67 respectively.
∴ 14th match score = 212 – (66+67) = 212 – 133 = 79
Answer: B

3. The total number of balls faced by HH Pandya is 121 less than the total number of runs scored by him. What is the run scored by HH Pandya?
3).Strike rate = (Total runs scored /Total balls faced) × 100
142.45 = x / (x-121) × 100
142.45x – (121 × 142.45) = 100x
∴ x = 17236.45 / 42.45 = 406.04 ≈ 406
Answer: A

4.The average run scored by SK Raina is 29. What is the strike rate of the SK Raina, if he faced 1375 balls less than the total run scored by him?
4).Total run = Average run × Total no.of match played
= 29 × 160 = 4640
∴ Total ball faced by Raina is, 4640 – 1375 = 3265
∴ Strike rate = (4640/ 3265) × 100 = 142.11
Answer: D

5. The ratio of the total runs scored by KH Pandya and KM Jadhav is 30 : 49. If the total number of balls faced by KM Jhadav is 259 more than KH Pandya, then what is the strike rate of KM Jhadav?
5). Total number of run scored by Jadhav is, 49/30 × 480 = 784
Total no.of balls faced by KH Pandya = (480/ 158.41)×100 = 303.01 ≈ 303
∴ Total no.of balls faced by Jadhav = 303 + 259 = 562
Hence, strike rate = (784 / 562) ×100 = 139.50
Answer: A

Directions (Q. 6-10): Study the pie-chart and the bar graph carefully and answer the question that follows. The number of students studying Arts, Science and commerce in four different colleges. Total number students= 10,000.

6.What is the total number of students studying Arts in college P and Q together?
Question (6-10):
Total number of students = 10,000
P = 93.6º/360º ×10000 = 2600
Q = 115.2º/360º ×10000 = 3200
R = 72º/360º ×10000 = 2000
S = 79.2º/360º ×10000 = 2200
6). The number of Arts students in college P = 24/100 ×2600 = 624
The percentage of Arts students in college Q = 100 – (48+22)= 30%
∴ The number of Arts students in college Q = 30/100 ×3200 = 960
∴ Required total = 624 + 960 = 1584
Answer: C

7. If 34% of students are studying Science in college S, then what is the total number of students studying commerce in all the college together?
7). The number of commerce students in college P = 30/100 × 2600 = 780
The number of commerce students in college Q = 22/100 × 3200 = 704
Now, we have to find the percentage of commerce students in college R & S,
The percentage of commerce students in college R =100 – (38+32) =30%
∴ Number of students = 30/100 × 2000 = 600
The percentage of commerce students in college S=100 – (40+34) =26%
∴ Number of students = 26/100 × 2200 = 572
Hence, the required total = 780+ 704 + 600 + 572 = 2656
Answer: D

8. What is the respective ratio between the number of students studying Science in college P and Q?
8). The percentage of science students in college P=100 – (24+30) =46%
∴ Number of students = 46/100 × 2600 = 1196
The number science students in college Q = 48/100 × 3200 = 1536
Hence, required ratio = 1196: 1536 = 299: 384
Answer: B

9. What is the approximate average number of students studying Arts in college Q, R and S?
9). The percentage of Arts students in college Q = 100 –(48+22)= 30%
∴ The number of Arts students in college Q = 30/100 ×3200 = 960
The number of Arts students in college R = 38/100 × 2000 = 760
The number of Arts students in college S = 40/100 × 2200 = 880
Hence, required Average = (960+760+880)/3= 2600/3 = 866.67 ≈867
Answer: A

10.By what percent is the number of students studying Commerce in college R less than the number of students studying Arts in college S?
10). The percentage of commerce students in college R =100 – (38+32) =30%
∴ Number of students = 30/100 × 2000 = 600
The number of students studying Arts in college S = 40/100 × 2200 = 880
Required percentage = ((880 – 600)/880) × 100 = 31.81 %
Answer: C
