1). Petrify (Verb)
Synonyms: Ossified, fossilized, rare lapidified
Antonyms: enliven, stimulate
Definition: change (organic matter) into a stony substance by encrusting or replacing it with a calcareous, siliceous, or other mineral deposit.
Usage: The petrified remains of prehistoric animals.
