The proposal for setting up a new airport in Jewar in Greater Noida has been approved by government
The Government has cleared the proposal for setting up a new airport in Jewar in Greater Noida. Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju stated that in-principle approval for a greenfield airport at Jewar has been granted to cater to the growing flying requirements of National Capital Region. According to the civil Aviation Minister, the Noida International Airport will cater to 30 to 50 million passengers per year over the next 10 to 15 years.

Group insurance cover for Amarnath pilgrims raised to Rs 3 lakh
The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board today announced to enhance the group insurance cover for the pilgrims and service providers from existing Rs one lakh to Rs three lakh. The board manages the annual yatra to the 3,880 metre high holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas. Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra, who is chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, announced the enhanced group insurance during a visit to various camps en-route the holy cave shrine. Vohra was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer of the Board Umang Narula. Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to begin from Thursday.

Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and DG ITBP, Krishna Chaudhary flagged in the first Mt Dhaulagiri 1 International Mountaineering Expedition-2017 today. Appreciating the contribution and achievements of Indo Tibetan Border Police in mountaineering, Mr Mehrishi conveyed his congratulations to the leader and team members of the expedition. He said that the ITBP is a unique mountain trained Force and the working conditions in the Himalayas test mountaineering skills of the Force personnel. He hoped that the Force will continue to excel in mountaineering and contribute to bring more laurels for the country in future as well. Mt. Dhaulagiri 1 is the 7th highest peak of the world situated in Nepal. ITBP has been primarily deployed on high altitude Indo-China border on Border Out Posts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for the Netherland in his last leg of the three-nation visit after completing his two-day US tour. The Prime Minister will reach Amsterdam where he will hold bilateral talks with his counterpart Mr. Mark Rutte. Both countries are celebrating 70 years of the establishment of Indo-Dutch diplomatic relations this year. The World Bank has cleared a USD 250-million loan for making Indian youth more employable through reskilling, in a move that is seen to aid the Skill India Mission. The multi-lateral lender is keen to support the Indian government in its efforts to better equip the young workforce with employable skills. Under the program, adults in 15-59 years of age, underemployed or unemployed, will get the skill training.

India won Team Bronze in 25 meter Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior Shooting World Championship.
