A new Siren warning system for odhisa coastal area form July

Odisha will be able to warn its coastal population by pressing a single button from a control room in the Odisha capital in the event of natural disasters. Sirens will then go off simultaneously at 122 spots.
15th meeting of GST Council to be held in Delhi tomorrow

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will chair the 15th meeting of the GST Council in New Delhi tomorrow. This meeting is likely to finalize the rates of tax and cess to be levied on the commodities left in the previous Council's meet. The approval of amendments of the draft GST Rules and related forms are also on the agenda of the meeting. Finance ministers of different States/UTs, members of the GST Council and senior officials may also attend the meeting.

India and Russia have signed two more units of nuclear power plants in Tamil nadu

India and Russia have signed the much-awaited agreement on setting up two more units of a nuclear power plant in Tamil Nadu and decided to give a “new direction” to the defence cooperation between the two “great powers”. The two countries also decided to hold the first tri-Services exercises, named ‘Indra-2017,’ this year and start joint manufacture of frigates, adding to the co-production of Kamov-226 military helicopters.
China’s Vivo is the new sponsor for FIFA

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has signed on to sponsor the 2018 and ‘22 World Cups, FIFA said on Wednesday, adding to a string of deals between Chinese firms and football’s governing body. A FIFA statement announcing the deal did not disclose terms but Financial Times put it at $450 million over six years.

Shinjini Kumar has joined Citi India as the head of its consumer banking business, according to a statement from the lender. Ms. Kumar, who had spent 17 years at the Reserve Bank of India and five years with PwC, had joined Paytm after it received in-principle licence to start a payments bank. While she was the Chief Executive Officer-designate for the Paytm Payments Bank, the company had announced Renu Satti as its CEO just before the bank started operations last month.

Bharti Airtel on Thursday announced that it has received the approval of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), BSE and NSE for the proposed scheme of merger between Airtel and Telenor (India) Communications Private Limited. Bharti Airtel further stated that Telenor India and Airtel had on Thursday filed the joint company application before the New Delhi Bench of the National Company Law Tribunal for approval.

T20 Global League a new league similar like IPL announced by South African Cricket Board
Cricket South Africa unveiled a logo and announced on Wednesday that its planned high-profile Twenty20 league will be named the T20 Global League. The league, similar to IPL, will have eight city-based franchises and will be played in late 2017 with the final on Dec. 16. Eight ‘marquee’ overseas players and eight top South Africa players have already been announced and one each will be allocated to each of the teams.
