Selfie-with-Daughter has become a world-wide movement against female foeticide and sex selection.The ‘Selfie with Daughter’ campaign was started by Shri Sunil Jaglan in June 2015 in village Bibipur, Jind, Haryana.
A former Sarpanch, Shri Jaglan has been working in the field of women empowerment and village development.
Furthering the agenda for cooperative federalism, NITI Aayog has launched SATH, a program providing ‘Sustainable Action for Transforming Human capital’ with the State Governments:

SATH aims to identify and build three future ‘role model’ states for health systems.

India and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) on 8 June 2017 launched a partnership fund to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across the developing world.
The fund was launched on the occasion of the World Oceans Day at a special ceremony held at the Permanent Mission of India to the UN.
Highlights:
Towards achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Reducing poverty and hunger, improving health, education and equality, and expanding access to clean water, energy and livelihoods.
Initially, the fund will start with an initial contribution of USD 1 million for its first project Climate Early Warning System in Pacific Island Countries (CEWSPIC).

BANKING NEWS:
The State Bank of India has reduced rates for home loans above Rs.75 lakh by 10 bps.
The revised interest rates will be 8.55% per annum for salaried women and 8.60% per annum for others.
The revised interest rates on home loans by the SBI will come into effect from June 15 this year.

Canara Bank has inked pact with the state-owned general insurer The New India Assurance Co to sell policies through its branches:
The Bengaluru headquartered public sector lender said this corporate agency distribution tie-up will make available general insurance products from over 6,000 Canara Bank branches in the country.
The tie-up will offer personal products such as motor insurance, home insurance, health insurance, travel insurance besides commercial policy coverages like fire insurance, marine insurance and engineering insurance.

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli is the sole Indian sportsperson to feature in the 2017 Forbes list of ‘The World’s highest paid athletes’.

Former Kerala assembly speaker T S John (74-year) has passed away at a hospital at Chertala in Alapuzha.
